It’s the aim of anyone in employment or business to make enough money to spend and have some left over to save. If you’re thinking of the trade jobs that you can take on to help you save money, continue on with this blog. Outlined are five jobs you could pursue if you are interested in trade work.

1. HVAC Technician

One of the five trade jobs that you could look into is becoming an HVAC technician. An HVAC system, according to HomeAdvisor, should be serviced two times each year. Once for the heating and once for the air conditioning. This shows that there’s a high demand for the services of good HVAC technicians who can perform such services. If you’re interested in this field, you simply need to find a good technical school to go to, after which you can do some apprenticeship under a qualified company and you will be ready to proceed.

2. Power Plant Operator

As a power plant operator, you will maintain the equipment that generates electricity. Because it’s a job that never stops, work will be in rotating shifts, and sometimes, you will find yourself sometimes working holidays, weekends, and nights. Some specific tasks that you will perform in this role include manipulating breakers, valves, and switches to make sure that equipment is running smoothly, calibrating equipment, and reading meters. This is a job that you can start to do even with a high school diploma or its equivalent, alongside a lot of on-the-job training, after which you should have a U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission license.

3. Cable Technician

A cable technician installs, repairs, and maintains telecommunication networks. They also work to improve the reach and speed of broadband communications. This means that when services are down, they may need to visit affected businesses and homes to remedy the issue. When you have a high school diploma, you could go to a technical school to get the certification you need to become a cable technician. After this, you will need to get some on-the-job training to learn the manual skills you need. While training, you may encounter facts such as that a fully loaded semi-truck can weigh up to 18,000 pounds.

4. Construction Manager

For someone who has great communication and some leadership skills, becoming a construction manager is a trade job to consider. A construction manager supervises construction projects, overseeing them from start to finish and prepares budgets, schedules contractors, and addresses any issues that may arise. While it’s not mandatory to have a bachelor’s degree, one may be helpful to have in this case. You will also need to do on-the-job training for a period of a year, after which you can apply for a state license.

5. Landscape Designer

Finally, if you have a love for the outdoors and are brimming with ideas about how people can improve their curb appeal with a good landscape, this is a great trade job to consider. You will get to develop landscaping plans for outdoor spaces, including parks, in which you can work with ponds, water features, gardens, and walkways. You will also consult with clients to assess their needs and budgets so you can present them with different ideas and solutions. You may also advise clients to seek the services of tree removal experts in some instances, so you will do well to know some of the best ones in your area. Across the United States in 2022, there were 127,298 tree removal businesses, so you should have an easy time finding some that you can work with.

Look into these trade jobs and see if any interest you. With these, you can begin a great career in a short amount of time if you put in the work required.
