Weis Markets History
Before we dive into the store’s policies, let’s take a quick look at its history. Harry and Sigmund Weis founded Weis Markets in 1912 when they opened their first store in Sunbury, Pennsylvania. Today Harry’s grandson Jonathan oversees the company, which employs over 23,000 people.
Weis Markets is committed to helping customers eat better for less. To that end, they offer low prices, local produce, and even process their own milk and ice cream. Weis Markets also values sustainability and is part of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Green Chill program. Since 2008, the grocery chain has lowered its emissions by 27%.
Weis Markets Price Scan Guarantee
So what is the Weis Markets price scan guarantee, and how can it help you save money?
Weis Markets guarantees that the prices at their registers are accurate. So you don’t have to diligently check your receipt to make sure your groceries rang up correctly. But if an error occurs and the price on the shelf or in the circular is lower than the one at the register, you’ll get the item at the lowest advertised price. The only exception to this guarantee is if the store has issued an ad retraction at the customer service desk.
That’s not the only guarantee Weis Markets offers customers. They also have something called a lowest price guarantee on tagged items. If a local competitor is advertising a lower price on one of the tagged items, Weis Markets will give you double the price difference at the register. That’s how confident they are that they offer the lowest prices around!
Weis Markets Coupon Policy
In addition to their price scanning policy, Weis Markets has an awesome coupon policy that can help you save big on your groceries. They’ll double all manufacturer coupons up to $0.99 at the register. So if you redeem one $0.75 manufacturer coupon, for example, you’ll get $1.50 off your purchase. That gives you an even bigger incentive to use coupons and makes all that time spent clipping them worth it!
Keep in mind, however, that if you redeem a coupon worth $1.00 or more, you’ll only get the stated discount because the coupon won’t be doubled. Weis Markets will only double up to four of the same coupon, and they don’t allow you to redeem more than one coupon against a single item in the same transaction.
Even with these limitations and restrictions, it’s still a great policy that you should take advantage of if you want to cut down your grocery bill!
More Ways to Save
Believe it or not, there are even more ways to save at Weis Markets. They have competitor price comparisons right on their tags so you can see how much you’re saving just by shopping at Weis Markets. They also offer a 10% military discount on participating Weis brands on Thursdays. Seniors should shop on Tuesdays to get their 10% discount on Weis brands.
You can also earn rewards every time you shop by joining the Weis Rewards program. Weis Markets even runs sweepstakes to give customers a chance to win store gift cards.
