Even though most banks and credit unions are closed on Sunday, you can still carry out basic banking transactions through ATMs or banking online.
It’s important to remember that if you do use an ATM or website, some transactions won’t fully post to your account until the next business day when the bank or credit union opens. This is usually not an issue, but something to keep in mind.
Why Aren’t Banks Open on Sunday?
The plain and simple reason that banks aren’t open on Sunday is that it’s not cost effective for them to be open. This is especially true now that ATMs and bank websites can handle most common banking transactions, such as checking your balance, transferring between accounts, withdrawing, and depositing. The one bank that does offer Sunday service, TD Bank, uses this as a way to differentiate itself from all the other banks.

I’m surprised that any banks or credit unions are open on Sunday. I don’t know of any in my area that do this. I do most of my banking online now or through the ATM, so I’m not sure how necessary this would be for me, but I could see how it could be convenient for a lot of people who have to work during the week and their only free time is on the weekend.

Wells Fargo has some locations open on Sunday. They used to have a location in Downey, CA now I have to drive to Long Beach CA. But it’s still good they have a branch open on Sunday and from 10:00 A. M. to 4:00 P.M.
Banks aren’t open on Sunday because all the bigots around the country only care about paganized Christians

Fifth third Bank– Kroger grocery stores branches are no longer open on Sundays 🙁
I can’t believe that the reason banks aren’t open on Sunday is became it’s not cost effective. That is ridiculous. 90% of people work mon-fri which leaves only 2 days they can visit the bank. Sunday is typically the day of those two that people are free from obligations and can take care of personal matters. I have been so frustrated with my bank time and time again for not being open on Sunday. They should be closed Wednesday instead. I would pay premium to join a bank that has hours on Sunday. I think the reason they are closed is because they don’t want to deal with the overflow of people that would be there on Sundays.
There is one bank i have found that is open on Sunday, it’s a Chase bank located in Lakewood, new jersey. Lakewood is ground zero for the Orthodox Jewish community, so the bank is closed on Saturday and open on Sunday to accommodate.
In the boro park section of Brooklyn NY almost all banks are closed Saturday and open Sunday to accommodate the orthodox Jewish community. Chase, Apple Bank, Santandar, Bank of America, TD bank and others
