Hotels with free Wi-Fi

Travelers have come to expect free Wi-Fi at hotels, so most major chains make it complementary. Interestingly, some luxury hotels still charge for the service.

Here’s a rundown on where it’s free and how you can get the service for free if it’s not provided.

The following hotel chains feature free Wi-Fi.

Hotels That Charge for Wi-Fi

Hilton: The Marquette Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton in Minneapolis charges guests $12.95 per day for Wi-Fi. However, the service is free to members of the chain’s reward club, Hilton Honors, which is also free to join.

Marriott: If you join the chain’s free rewards club, Wi-Fi is complimentary. Otherwise, you’ll pay $14.95 a day at hotels like the Marriott City Center in Minneapolis.

Omni Hotels & Resorts: Wi-Fi is free for members of the reward program called Select Guest, but non-members pay $9.95 per day for wireless internet access.

W Hotels: The W Foshay in Minneapolis quoted a price of $14.95 per day for Wi-fi access during the week, but free on weekends.

Final Thoughts

Most chains now offer free hotel Wi-Fi, but if you’re staying at one that doesn’t, become a member of the hotel’s rewards club to increase the changes of getting the service for free.

If the hotel doesn’t have a rewards club, getting complementary internet access might be as easy as calling the front desk and asking.
