Go to your favorite search engine such as Google and search for "how do I create a website?", "How do I create a blog?" etc. All of these items have had much written about them that you can find on the web. You can also go to your local library and look things up and since most libraries are part of inter library loan systems, if you know of a book you want to read, then ask if your library can get it for you. In the midst of all this, read and study about starting a small business and any tax consequences of earning money without a boss to send in your taxes monthly.

There is no fast and easy approach to making money on line. You have to do the work and part of that work is researching, reading, studying, and making a decision as to what you want to do based on your interests and talents. Remember the old analogy; if you give a man a fish he eats for a day, if you teach a man to fish he eats for life. This is a case very much where I could literally spend hours finding references for you but all that does is give you a fish and you still don't know how to fish. Spend your time finding and learning this stuff on your own. If you have specific questions once you have studied and are trying to work through something that is the time to ask specific questions.

I mean...I know how to write reviews...but who's going to pay more for it?

I am interested in learning how to create a website but my knowledge on this is zero. Where would a complete novice start? Any readings, textbooks or sources to learn from would be greatly appreciated.

I also don't know anything about blogging. I am interested but don't know where to start.

    Thank you so much.

Scan Dollar Store Items and Re-sell!

Get a barcode reader app, head to your local dollar stores and start scanning items that are more commercial and name brands (Disney, Marvel, etc.). Your app should tell you how much that item actually is or being sold for and then you can purchase it for a buck and re-sell away online to make some profit in your pocket!!

a very big thank you to a local dollar store employee who turned me on to this little trick...

Recycle your way to some extra cash!

Ask some of your neighbors for their cans and bottles to help you out. Most will be glad to drop off a bag or have you come pick them up. I have several neighbors that swing a bag of recyclables over every few weeks and trust me, it adds up at 5 cents a pop!

*Make sure you have sufficient storage to keep your bags of recyclables before taking them in for cash. And don't let them sit too long - they can start to smell with too much heat and bugs will start to invade....

    Happy collecting everyone!!

I have been on line making legitimate money for many years. I have never found any legitimate way to make real money without real work. What you are saying sounds exactly like the come-ons for the 'easy, fast' way to make money which in the end leave you high and dry. They have been around for years even before the internet and now those sorts of places abound and if they get closed down, they just open up elsewhere with a different name. Just remember that there is just no such thing as a free lunch.
The companies make money from being marketers themselves within the company, for example Wake Up Now is legit, it's not 100% commission though, and Empower Network is 100% commission, although it is legit. There is more affiliate marketing companies that are legit also. What i'm saying sounds like a come-on for a easy way to make money? No, i'll be straight forward with you on that. Affiliate marketing was never said to be easy, it's not like you sign up and make 6 digits a year, that's not how it works. Affiliate marketing takes time, dedication, involvement, and mindset. About the "get your family and friends on your team" read that closely, FAMILY and FRIENDS on a TEAM. If your downline isn't successful, you're not successful. Why? Because they won't pay to stay active in the company, there for you lose their residual income, plus if they are making money, you're making more money also. It's a TEAM, you don't leave your friends behind. My team and I Skype at least 3-5 nights a week all together. Not everything is a scam, even though scams do exist. I do agree with you on that.

Although a blog won't make much on affiliate marketing, there is many other ways to be successful with affiliate marketing which actually pays really well depending on the company you are with. For example, there is companies with 100% commission. Which mean you break even on your first referral and from there on out it's profit. You can make YouTube videos to expand, contact your family and best friends to get them on your team and help you become successful, but part of it is having to help your team all become successful, if they're successful you are successful.

One that I didn't see mentioned (but could be an oversight on my part) is affiliate marketing.

    Ways to Make Money

Forgot to mention that Craigslist is another great place to advertise.

In some regions its free to advertise and in other's you need to pay something like $25 or maybe more?

    Ways to Make Money

Great suggestions. Will probably do a few of those suggested.

One that I didn't see mentioned (but could be an oversight on my part) is affiliate marketing.

There are so many businesses out there needing people to market for them it is incredible.

You can market around your passions or something completely unrelated.

The two large affiliate places I am aware of are click bank and Commission Junction. Both are free to join and reasonably straight forward to use.

There is also online advertising you could place the ads on, such as clixsense (i think that's what its called?).

There is another online advertising platform, which I have recently been trialling out and that is doing quite well.

With this site, you basically get paid every 20 minutes, 72 times a day. i can happily give you a full detailed break down of how it works exactly here, but don't know if I can on this thread, as I am new and do not want to fall foul of the forum rules. Any guidance from the moderators would be greatly appreciated.

Well not by writing letters and sending them to people pretending to be a Christian widow in Nigeria (or is it Cambodia? this weeks latest she was a bit mixed up as to where she was ) and wants to give me 40 million US dollars. One of the many scams that are rampant here in the States.

Not sure how many things are geared for Africa, but if you write well, you might be able to get writing assignments, or via a very good blog of your own although I'm not sure if the affiliate programs would work for you. You will have to expend some real effort to find places and to then do what is necessary to make them make you money. No matter where you live it takes work.

the amount of money you can make is unlimited.
Not necessarily true. Due to education, intelligence, health, stamina, location, discernment, etc. some people are very limited in what they can earn. While I can think up plenty of ways to make money, because of my health problems, there are things I just can't get into physically. I've seen many that write on these type boards who (at least through their writing skills) show lower intelligences, lower education wanting to do anything and they will believe anyone who tells them that they can make extra money. Remember the old stuffing envelopes scam? I had a friend that really wanted to make more money and she told me she was considering doing that. She was so let down when she found out it was a scam. That is where discernment comes in. Being able to judge if something is a scam or not.

For those that can, one of the best things is to start your own part time business, but that even involves talent for bookkeeping, setting prices, etc. even if you are only doing lawn mowing or for this time of year snow plowing. I found when I finally had to say that I gave up with trying to get my cleaning done, I tried to find someone to hire. I never thought it would be so hard. My hubby did most of the calling. He asked one lady if she did dishes and she said no. Well dishes was one of the biggest things I needed done. I finally hired a Mennonite woman and by extension her whole community. If she couldn't do the job, others would come. It has been lovely and they happily do what ever you ask. So a woman or man that is a good at housecleaning most likely could find work even on a part time basis fairly easily I would think. But I know some aren't interested in cleaning someone else's toilet. I guess it comes down to how hungry you are and how much money you need and how desperately.

Some find it hard to earn money as they are already working a job, coming home to kids and housework, etc. Learning frugal habits can perhaps help more in this situation than for them to try to squeeze in another job, unless they are squeezing in working on line after the kids are in bed. Combining frugal habits AND earning more is the best of both worlds.

Nowadays there is also a great demand for medical transcription.
Not necessarily true. My SIL has her own business doing transcriptions and brings in enough to farm out some of the work to others. My son also is trained in medical transcription and in our area has only been able to find a part time 10 hour a week job. My SIL (many years experience and up on everything important in the area) says that due to changes in health care laws, there is also a change in ways that doctors get their notes on a chart. My own doctor sits there inputting everything into a computer while talking with me. So while there is still some demand for transcriptionists, it is a dying job market and before going into it and taking all the expensive and long training for it, you will need to talk seriously with those that would use one plus transcriptions themselves to find out what the current and future demand is in your area. Don't go by what schools might tell you or believe that they help with job placement as that is usually a lie or series of lie to get you to sign up for classes. They don't care if you get a job when you are done, they got their money.

Also if you have trouble understanding someone with a foreign accent of any kind, be careful of going into transcription where many of our doctors do speak with an accent, and when transcribing into their little recorders they all seem to talk twice as fast and that makes it twice as hard to understand them. My son (autistic) ran into this in the one full time job he was able to find where he had not yet matured into how to work in an office. He kept saying he couldn't get this when transcribing the foreign doctors although his failure rate when transcribing was extremely low (his mistake average was around 2-3%) and he was let go without notice about 2 months into his probation. As he refuses to tell any of his employers that he is battling a deficit of any kind, they didn't take what he was saying with a grain of salt. They took him at his word that he didn't understand even though he basically could but was having some difficulty). So between the autism and the foreign doctor, he lost the job. This part time one has been working out great but in the couple of years since he got it, there has been no openings for a full time job at all.

Perhaps Disney Steve knows more about this, but I would urge great caution in thinking this is a job with a growing demand for workers. Used to be and places that train people won't tell you that it really isn't so.
