If you’re a good swimmer you might be able to pick up a weekend swim teacher gig at your local recreation center. Keep in mind that some places may require a special certification or that you be a lifeguard.
Great idea. I have a friend that has been doing that for years. When she was getting near the time to recertify her lifeguarding certificate she took me to the pool to practice rescuing me!

Lots of us dream of home based jobs where we can work from the comfort of our own homes and be able to have more free time to spend with friends and family. It sounds easy and somewhat fun.
Not necessarily easy, but it makes it easy for people like myself that have health problems and can't go out to a regular job to earn some much needed finances for our home. It can also be hard to know when to quit what you are doing and walk away to spend time with family and friends. But it is the best way to be able to work in your jammies or nighties.

I think the things that people find the hardest is actually organizing themselves enough to do what has to be done, reading the rules and following them, not giving up when the going gets rough or the money doesn't come in like you think it should. Those people that you hear about making $10,000/month are extremely rare maybe one in a quarter million of the people making money on line make that much consistently - I'm talking net income, not gross. You also have to think hard about your goals.

One man told me he had a goal of selling about 60 items a month from his store. At that point his store barely had 30 items in it. That is obviously a problem, especially when they have no clue as to where to get more inventory. You need to set goals and steps to achieving those goals to be successful with making money on line.

    online network marketing
While some highly recomend this form of making money (especially if they can get you in their downstream), it is highly dependent on getting people under you selling and people under them selling, etc. Very mcuh like Tupperware, Amway, etc. Unless you can push product (assuming there is one) AND round up people to sell underneath you, it is a good way to spin your wheels.

There are however, many other ways to make money on line, that aren't dependent on a downstream of others.

I would suggest that your friend (and you if you are also looking for making more money), go to the Kindle store on Amazon, if you have an Kindle, and download samples of books on making money on line. A sample is about 1/10 of the book, so reading the first ten percent of a book and reading about 5-10 samples will give you a bunch of ideas that will help you know, which book to buy if you want to for more info, and also many ideas of ways to make money on line. I have found that this 'system' gives me lots of food for thought for other non-fiction topics, including using Pinterest in the best way possible.

We have so many resources possible via the internet that are free or almost free on making money it is marvelous. It still needs work to find that perfect niche though. I remember my stepfather with the same type arthritis I have, he searched for ways to make some extra money and most were just scams. Nothing he could do from home with the limited health that he had. When I think of the possiblities that I have, I could just cry. We are so blessed in many ways in this day and age! The opportunities are there, you just have to seek them out. If I was well and we had 48 hour days and no need of sleep, I could be making a fortune on line in many very legitimate ways and all free to start!

Hey hello guys !! I'm not a very tech-savvy person so I just hate sitting in front of my computer for hours and surfing the internet. Recently a colleague of mine, who's also my best friend, is really worried about his shrinking disposable income. He has to work really hard to make both ends meet since our company is just a start-up and it isn't paying us that good . He has a big family and he's desperately in search of another source of income. He had asked me to help after a neighbour recommended him online network marketing as a possible solution so today I came across your community in search of some guidance and tips for beginners. Thanks a lot!!

    3) Getting a free website and posting it on Craigslist
Not really sure what the reference to Craigslist is for. Do you mean set up or just procure a free website and then sell it someone via Craigslist? I'm not postivie how Craigslist works, but I can't see how posting it on Craigslist would make you any money. Some details would be very helpful here.

I want to emphzsize for those who don't understand, just getting a website or a blog DOES NOT MAKE YOU MONEY! To makes money with a blog or website you have to monetize it by the use of affliate links, Adsense links, etc. Once/or if you ever get a large enough audience to your blog/website and people clicking links you might earn some money, but it is nothing carved in stone as to how much you will make. Those that are making $1K or more a month are probably in the top 1-5% of bloggers. You have to pay attention to these sites, posting frequently, posting interesting information that others will want to read. These days also with good pictures that people will want to Pin to Pinterest so that others might come to your site via those Pins. Making money via a blog or website, is probably one of the hardest ways over time to make money even though they are fairly easy to set up. You most likely can actually make more doing low paying surveys than having a blog/website.

a very big thank you to a local dollar store employee who turned me on to this little trick...
Just curious how this is working out for you?

Are you buying what the store has in stock and reselling in bulk? I have resold retail merchandise many times, but most of my success has come from clearance items.

I would avoid the blogging and website route if the main purpose is to make extra money unless you are willing to put in a lot of your free hours to get them started with no pay at all
I very much agree. I've had two blogs for years and they haven't begun to make me much money, maybe combined $3-4. I use them more for promoting my on line business that does make money. I suspect that many that recommend blogs for making money are doing so on hearsay, they have heard that others have made money through blogs although they don't have a blog themselves that makes money.

This is one huge reason that when it comes to making money on line, in any manner, it is up to you to do the research to learn how to use that method and figure what the financial potential might be. So called 'normal' people aren't increasing their bank accounts substantially in many of the ways that people suggest here, but that doesn't mean it can't be done.

Asking how to make money on line and getting an answer like start a blog is the equivalent of asking 'how do I learn how to drive?' and being told to go buy a car.

There ARE ways to make money, but they all take time and dedication to the project.

There are really tons of ways to make money, we just have to look into it and thanks for sharing those here.
The old items seller could be like having a garage sale aside from selling it online. Doing things for others like house repairs and laundry for just several hours could help give some extra money too.

I am interested in learning how to create a website but my knowledge on this is zero. Where would a complete novice start? Any readings, textbooks or sources to learn from would be greatly appreciated.

I also don't know anything about blogging. I am interested but don't know where to start.

    Thank you so much.

If you want to do review or freelance writing, try sites like freelancer and elance where you can try to win bids for writing on all kinds of different projects.
