I'd probably agree with this, except that everything I hear about him indicates that he's a misogynist. And I can't bring myself to ever support that. Or to keep my mouth shut when others do support him, heh. Especially when there are lots of other resources available that actually do give great advice, while his advice is mediocre AT BEST and harmful if people follow everything he says.

I can't argue with you there. I haven't followed any news about him so I'm not fully aware of all of that stuff. I did hear something about him firing women who got pregnant and weren't married.

Maybe get a used copy at Goodwill and that way he doesn't get any money.

      * Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
      * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
      * There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.

Ha! Now that I can get behind. Things I've heard are that he won't even get into an elevator if a woman is on it (along with all sorts of other horrendous behavior toward women). That he pulled out a loaded gun in an employee meeting (I believe that one was in a deposition for an existing lawsuit). And when I googled it just now, I see that his employees just filed suit over his pandemic policies - it seems he must be an anti-masker. Sheesh.

Unfortunately I think she needs to realize she has a spending problem. I don't think she understand. i meet many people who don't think they make a lot of money but they do. They are aggrevated they didn't get the stimulus but when I point out that means they made over $75k a single person they make a face, "oh that's nothing." I am like people getting the stimulus make SUBSTANTIALLY less than that obviously.

It sure is tough to get ahead of credit card interest, but filing for bankruptcy should always be an absolute last resort. Perhaps she should try a different approach, like the debt snowball method, which can help your friend earn small victories along the way as she pays down her debt. This can help her build momentum and motivation to continue making payments until she’s debt-free. Of course, this doesn’t avoid the interest payments, but one way to avoid interest is to eliminate some debts.

There is nothing stopping her from making quarterly tax payments, or opening a savings account and making a deposit each time alimony is received.
