Where are you on the income % scale?

We are in the Top 5%, with student loans paid for a two careful spenders in the household. This scenario will give us a secure (but not lavish) retirement, and we should be able to cover the cost of undergrad for our one child. This is the lifestyle everyone who works full-time should have access to, but because the middle class doesn't exist anymore, sadly, few will have it this good... even among the top 5% and above (because my peers at this income level spend $$ like CRAZY!!).

im around the 40% zone, pretty meager in Amercans POV but it doesnt much matter what you make its what you save and how you invest that will make or break you. i see loads of people much closer to the 1% than i am yet they are working their tails off just to keep the machine moving

Definitely top 15, possibly top 10 this year. Not quite sure and I'm out of town so I can't check my YTD numbers.

Top 5% right now, but that's with us both working, and receiving a healthy cost of living adjustment for where we're living... Everything in Alaska is at least 50%-100% compared to the lower 48. Normally, we'd be top 10%.

I'm in the top 5%. But like 97 guns said it really doesn't matter how much you make if you don't hold on to it. Having a saving/investing plan is crucial to building wealth in the long run.

Top 1% for income. But I'm only in the top 15% for net worth for my age. I wasted a lot of money.

Going off 2015 AGI, we were in the top 7%, but that included an unusually large bonus and we wound up selling his company's stock options. I'm expecting this year's AGI to be much lower. My husband's base salary is in the top 13%, which I found out is the median salary for our area. I no longer feel special.

These calculators make no sense. Just another way to boost someones ego.

It says I'm in the bottom 47%. Is that a bad thing?

I actually have a very comfortable lifestyle, and support myself, 5 pets and 4 hobbies.
