Thanks for all of the feedback.

I chose 20% for Bonds because I am willing to extend retirement a few years if necessary to reach our goal. Also, we definitely have plenty of room for cutting expenses. We are not nearly as frugal as we once was, but we are certainly capable of doing it.

Our house is paid off and a conservative estimate is $170,000 in equity. If I were the boss, which I already established I am not, we would have already downsized. However, we will most definitely downsize upon retirement, hopefully banking some of that equity.

Although I am still soliciting feedback and mulling over some of the allocations, I did take some action Tuesday night and this morning.

I decided to fully fund our Roth accounts for 2016 and transferred $11k from our Savings account. I also opened a Brokerage account and funded it with $10k, also from our Savings account. That leaves $18,500 in Savings, which is enough to cover 6 months of true expenses.

I placed the orders in the Roth accounts to purchase the REIT Index fund previously mentioned. Each order amounts to 5% of our overall portfolio to give us the 10% desired allocation for REITs.

I hope to wrap up the further allocations & balancing by this time next week.

What are you putting the 401ks? Two or one?

My wife and I talked more about this last night and that led me to tweak the allocations a bit from what I previous posted. We just reallocated the balances within our 401ks and updated our future elections.

Our new AA is 40% Large, 10% Small, 15% International, 10% REITs and 25% Bonds.

Since we are not investing in REITs via our 401k, our future elections for Large is set at 50%. Since we are also holding Large in our Roth, I can easily transfer funds to our REITs fund as necessary to keep that allocation around 10%.

I probably could have went back and forth on the allocations a million times, but needed to just make the decision and proceed with the changes.

Excellent! Sit back, relax and enjoy the boredom that is the boglehead way.
