Too funny! I challenge people who say it's so hard to save to walk around their homes and find nothing they couldn't live without. Find nothing that you didn't pay too much for. Find nothing that wasn't a bit excessive or unnecessary.

And even at that, many people who use social services are receiving them because of unfortunate circumstances out of their control. Don't you know that? The remainder of your taxes are spent to support a myriad to things like national defense, those highways and bridges you drive your responsible self to work on, the salary of those cops and firefighters who come to your aid in the event of crimes, medical emergencies and fires and on and on.

And if you really think that being on welfare is so easy, then go for it. Then come back and tell us how much better it is to get your huuuuuuge paycheck from being on the dole and how wonderful your life is as you rack up the freebies. I'd be interested to know.
WORD. The perfect response, thanks for posting it.

And since when does being wealthy and/or educated = being responsible?

I never said that being educated/wealthy was being responsible. I can only speak for myself. Oh btw, I'm not wealthy but I am educated.

These generalizations make me laugh. If you were implying that I live in a nice house with nice stuff than you are way off. I still live like a college student and rent a small 1 bdrm apt.

Yeah and there are people that don't abuse the system. Give me a break. You need to get off your high horse and smell the coffee. And I guess 15% is not a lot of $$.

I just might do that. Oh wait... let me guess you barely pay taxes and you feel like you have the right to insist that others that earn more than you carry a substantially bigger load than you.

Really? I was unaware of that.

Talk about being ignorant. Please STFU if you don't know anything about cars.

I love all these responses. Let's make it even more interesting. Why don't we all start posting how much we've paid in taxes the last year and than start making comments.

Hey, get a lower-paying job. You can still work hard and be responsible, and your taxes will be lower!

I see your point to some extent, but you are off if you think taxes are only used to support the irresponsible. That would be my problem with the rant.

I agree with you M3racer. I live in a little one BR apartment also and I am saving 75% of my income right now as my income is not consistent. I currently work my butt of 65+ hours a week to make the money that I do. It's not free money as others seem to perceive. I went to college for 6 years to help do what I do. I did not do all of this to support other people. I am a little bitter right now as my income has gone up tremendously recently and now see that much more of it being stolen away from me with it to only get worse over the next few years thanks to the ridiculous government spending occurring in this country today. If I truly believed this spending was going to help the country long term, I might not be so bitter, yet I do not.

Like I said in my earlier post....I have no problem paying more FAIR share of taxes to support our government. The current tax system is not set up that way. If anyone can logically explain how the current tax system is fair please do so.

BTW its funny how the haters are coming out and posting because they feel that those who earn more should be penalized.
