Wow, that is very funny. Yes, it would be great if it was one of the cards with the photo on it!! You would think that with finance companies having to be more responsible with who they make credit available to at the moment they may have better checks in place. Did they ask for his signature?

Nope, they didn't ask for any validation other than what was on the application. I guess you're supposed to sign the back of the card before using it, but her paw would take up the whole back and I don't have a fresh ink pad.

My dog has a credit card too. I don't trust her as much as you must trust your dog. I only allowed her to be an authorized user! Hey, the CC issuer wanted to pay me $5 to add a user, so why not. My husband nearly DIED when he saw the card with her name on it! Seriously, you can add anyone as an authorized user! I suspect DH now wants an alternate identity....

Remember when the Bundy's got a credit card for Buck, their dog. I knew that they were dumb, but really, a SSN that is 000-00-0000. Who was the idiot who put that in and okayed it?
I can't get a credit card, but your dog can.
Want to make me feel worse?
Tell me that your sink got one too.

            Sorry

It's not you that's screwed up... It's the credit industry.

If you wanna make your credit card company look even worse, call a tv news station and tell them the story. I'm pretty sure with the economy the way it is, they'd be interested in making a story out of it.

That might not be the best idea.... I don't know exactly how it works legally, but as someone mentioned previously, getting a card for your dog could be construed as some form of credit card fraud. Drawing attention to yourself like that might instigate something, and could turn out badly. Really, I would just cancel Fido's card and just keep it around for the fun of it and have the funny story to tell friends.

If it's cancelled, how will she buy dog food? She has no income, so she has to rely on credit.

Oh, you're right.... I'm sorry, I totally forgot about that. And of course, she doesn't have any savings to keep herself afloat.... You know, has she considered marrying into wealth?

OH!! I KNOW!! Okay, here's the plan. First, she needs to get a personal loan. Somewhere around $50k. She makes less-than-minimum payments on that from the loan money itself. Then, she should buy a home, get an interest-only loan (i mean, she's gotta be guaranteed a loan! it's the american dream!), make the interest payments with the personal loan, then in a few months sell the property at a HUGE profit, paying off both the mortgage and the personal loan. In the end, she'll likely walk off with about $50k-$100k. That can buy a whole lot of kibble.... Not bad for a couple loans, a few months, and no work whatsoever. Now THERE'S the American dream!

So what do you think? Flawless plan, right? I mean, it's simple economics, anybody knows that!

OMG this is ridiculous. I guess it depends on the company because my wife was refused once and we have good credit O_o

But that's too easy and that's why some people are in financial trouble.
