I hope so! The lead-up has certainly gone on long enough.

Ugh, the #1 spot on my list of "most hideous cars" got a new contender in the "Cyber Truck" .... Right alongside the original Honda Element ("elephant"), PT Cruiser, Baja, and a variety of others. But certain why, but I'm very judgy about cars.... Lol

I kinda like the look of it. Futuristic for sure. In person, I think it would have a certain cool factor to it.
Practicality probably not so much though.

$39K is the base model price. It goes up to $69K if you load it up with options, and another $10K on top of that will get you self driving mode.

I have a feeling the $39k model will be unobtanium for a long time until the hype settles. Just like the $60k C8 Corvette...never going to find one.

We just picked up a BMW iX. Our first electric. We weren't gonna go full space-Karen with a Tesla

A friend of mine had a BMW i3.
It had a small gas tank on it in case the battery went dead. Held like a gallon, and was enough to get you 30 miles or so.

Toyota recently announced that starting with 2025, they will only sell a hybrid Camry, no more gas engine model. I'm surprised I haven't seen more about that story since the Camry has been the top-selling car in America for many years. I've been driving a Camry since 1991 so it looks like my next car may well be a hybrid, which I think makes far more sense than a pure electric car anyway. It's really the best of both worlds. And I would never go near a Tesla or do anything else to support Musk. (though I do still use Twitter but at least I'm not paying for that).

The iX doesn't have a range extender, this is a true BEV/battery electric vehicle. We've been charging it at home between uses.
Soon we'll be taking a 360-mile trip (one-way) in near-freezing weather. We'll need to stop in and charge along the way, but the midway point has fast chargers and is a good place to stop for a bite to eat anyhow.

I'm not sure the point of this unless Musk is trying to peek the military's interest in this truck

Drug dealers, celebrities, private security, rich people, gravy seals. It's not for the military.
