  • Wow, can't wait to see how low they actually go! Yeah, not really. I put more money in emigrant today and I saw it at 2.5. Still can't believe once it was 5.15. Gotta love it.

    • I closed my Umbrella account yesterday. I can get 3.19 locally, so I might as well stay close to home. My bank is paying 3.19% just on checking accounts with a $1000 balance.

          • The front-page list still shows Square Savings at 3.6%.

Haha, when did Redneck Bank start business?

            • I have a question - I noted that the rate for a 6 mo CD was less than the saving rate for an ING orange savings account. This didn't make sense to me, as I have access to my money with the ING savings account vs. having my money locked up for 6 months in a CD.

Can anyone clarify why the rate is lower for the CD?

Good catch. I moved it to the proper position on the list but I didn't change the figure. I've corrected that now.

I don't know when they went online as Redneck Bank, however, the site states: Redneck Bank® is the Internet Banking Division of Bank of the Wichitas®, a well-respected "country" bank established in 1913, and is insured by the FDIC, like all legitimate banks!

                        • Ok, I've made those changes:

GMAC Online Savings down from 3.25 to 3.00
GMAC Money Market down from 2.75 to 2.50

Note: GMAC Online Savings main page still reads 3.25% as of this moment, however, if you click on 'Today's Rates,' that page shows that the current yield is 3.00%.

                            • Flagstar is down to 3%. Sheesh, they're dropping like flies.

I wonder how DollarSavings can keep offering 4%. They must've written some pretty bad loans....
