After maintaining a list of current online savings accounts and rates for nearly four years, I am announcing that I will no longer actively maintain it. Thanks to Jeffrey and Nate for providing this site and assistance to me for this listing. I have left the list/links of offerings below for future reference. There are, of course, other banks - as well as credit unions, which were not contained on this list - that offer varying levels of rates on various types of accounts. When I began this list, many online banks offered 5% or more. At the present time, it is difficult to say that any bank or credit union really offers a high rate. Some banks do offer a higher rate if you have checking, savings, and use a debit card, etc. as a promotion, so you may want to be on the lookout for such in your area. Hopefully this listing has been of service to SavingAdvice members and others who have found it by web searches. I wish us all a prosperous future. Thanks I needed that. I want to open a high interest account as soon as I sell my spec house. If you could put up links, I promise to write them all down and not keep asking for them. Thanks again, poundwise!!

Yes Poundwise thanks for all the links and the information on each bank. That took a lot of compiling and you did it expertly and neatly too!
![]() Definitely a keeper. Will help with going to the banks individually to see if rates have changed. Again great job!!! |

Great list. Would you mind if I shared it at another discussion site?

I wish more banks would let you use the phone or mail to open an account. I have no idea how to use a printer and mine has no paper or ink in it!

I thought I would bring this to the top again, I think it is important!

Rumors are that Emigrant will be going up to 5% starting tomorrow (7/4). Source: Bank Deals.

What a nice thing to do. My last job was in 1980 and we did not have a computer there. When I moved here, the only job I could get was a waitress job, so that is what I did for a living for a while. My husband has never used a computer either. He bought me one for christmas a year and a half ago and I know nothing about it. (I am over 60) But Dalton is too far away, I am up in the mountains in Blairsville, by the N.C. line. Thanks anyway!!
