No haggling, just take the ad (or print from web) and buy at the said price. I'm contemplating this 2018 Journey for $16,999.
We did this with two of our last three vehicle purchases. We bought used, but same thing. Everyone (in person) thinks we paid WAY more for our minivan than we did.

What did you buy used and how did you get it for a steal price? In an ad?

Yes, just in a newspaper ad like pictured above.
Bought a couple of 1-year-old vehicles for 1/2 the cost of new. They both had about 15k miles. The thing is we have never shopped for any specific car. We just stumbled upon deals. This was in our 20s when we wouldn't have had the means to buy a $20k car anyway. We just ended up with much newer cars than we were expecting to buy. Well, it worked so well the first time we did it again.

Ha ha! You fool! You will fall victim to one of the classic blunders - the most famous of which is "never get involved in a land war in Asia" - but only slightly less well-known is this: "never buy a Dodge or Chrysler product"
The 2007 Dodge Dakota did give me a lot of problems when I first bought it with the transmission which I almost had to claim it under the lemon law but I was thinking that maybe it was just a one off thing.
The only brand car I have ever bought. I don't know what I will do when they have phased out all their minivans that are the perfect seat height for me to get in and out of! Very hard to be tall, have long legs, big feet and knees that will only bend to 90 degrees to get in and out of cars.
How is this for the least I have ever paid for a car? 4 quarters, as in $1.00. My car (a minivan) was shot and it was the first couple of years that I wasn't working before SS kicked in and money was almost non-existent. My folks got a new car, but my step dad was unhappy with the amount that they would give him for a trade in, so he said he would rather give it away to someone that needed it. He offered it to us for $1 and he laughed so hard when I paid him with 4 quarters.
Most car purchases I can't remember how much they were. But other than the $1 car, that has gone on to its reward at this point, our current car is the ONLY car that I got completely paid off without using it as a trade in! This forum has been good for me. In the last year we paid of the car early as well as our rental property. I needed the encouragement just from reading other’s thoughts and plans for how they handle their money.
We usually buy Dodge and Chrysler because we get a big discount. We don't have any problems until they get 9-10 years old and then they fall apart in a dramatic fashion. One thing after another and there is no such thing as a cheap repair for them at that point.
I have never even heard of a Dodge Journey until I came across the ad. I have second thoughts about getting it now.
I wouldn't worry about it. For one, you have to figure the cost difference. If you pay $10,000 more for a vehicle (as the alternative), that's $10k more repairs you can absorb on a cheaper vehicle. Our last two vehicles were a Ford (best car we've ever had) and a Dodge. We keep our cars 2-3 times longer than everyone who tells us we should buy other brands. *Shrugs*. Personally, we have always had great mechanics and have never had car problems. I have never in my life had an unreliable vehicle. If you end up with a lemon/dog you can always sell it. *Shrugs*. The stakes seem low at that price point.
I like the Journey. I have had terrible problems with the Subaru and my Toyota, and everyone swears by them. I would never buy either again, but I would buy another Dodge. With our last 2 Dodge/Chrylers, most of the problems were related to minivan problems and my husband just not taking care of the 300M. The automatic sliding doors on the minivans are always the first to go, and then the infotainment centers and speakers. The big stuff didn't start happening until 9-10 years in, and I don't know if proper maintenence could have lessened the problem. My husband just keeps resetting the warning lights, or whatever they are called, until a smaller problem turns into something that a properly trained mechanic needs all day to fix.
I would check under the hood to make sure you can access things before you buy. Our 300 was designed so that we needed a special wrench just to change the oil, and any problem involved removing either the engine or the gas tank to get to. The other cars were not like that, but we haven't had a Dodge in a while.
