Who's in on DJT?

It's beyond me why anyone would invest in a company run by a guy who has gone bankrupt multiple times and also happens to be facing dozens of charges including being currently on trial for some of them. What could possibly go wrong in that scenario?Last edited by disneysteve; 04-19-2024, 11:41 AM.Steve

This is really interesting. I'm not sure whether to buy or short because I don't know what the "invisible hand(s)" are doing with this stock....
TBH--shorting a stock has unlimited risk if the price is driven up.
On the other hand, buying the stock: analysts say it is overpriced as it stands. A person might lose everything invested.
So, either way too risky for me, but I will continue to watch.

I cannot lie and it's not in my nature so I have to tell the truth. When I saw this thread, I cringed. This is like rubbing salt in the wound. Back when DJT was DWAC, I bought $1000 worth. Today it lost 2/3 of its value. I think DWAC was $100 a share so I bought 10 shares. DJT is now $36. I've been thinking of lust unloading now and take a hair cut.

A company with $4.1M in revenue, a $58M loss booked in 2023 . a market cap of $5B, and a polarizing figure as it's "face" doesn't strike me as a good investment. I know basically nothing about the mechanics of shorting a stock and I'd never do it, but from what I do know this would seem a candidate based on its financials.
However, there are very few shares available to short - only about 5 million out of more than 136 million company shares. And much of the 5 million shares were already locked up in short positions earlier this month.

The low risk put sellers are making money. I think it is only a good candidate at this time to consider selling very low delta cash secured puts ideally when the implied volatility is raised and using a time frame over a course of a week or 2 at most. I made 2.4% over 4 1/2 trading days selling the $10 puts due this week sold last Wednesday at 25 cents when the stock was over $25 which for the amount of risk I was taking (virtually zero) is a great booked return annualized at 125%. I covered at 1 cent yesterday. However, as an longer term investment hell no but then again there are very few stocks I would invest in at this time given they are overvalued or pure risky speculations.

Looks like this stock is down almost 6.5% this morning. It's been a rough week in the news for the majority shareholder. Nunes asked a House Republican Committee to investigate unlawful manipulation of the stock last month, and it shot up almost 10%. But I think there are still serious concerns about the future value of this company and if/when it will hit a wall with its inability to produce profit. It's seriously over-valued.History will judge the complicit.

It's being gamed like meme stocks are, and I'm afraid a lot of people lost their butts.“Compound interest is the eighth wonder of the world.
