Is the iPhone X worth it? It depends on how much the $1000 is worth to you.
My wife loves her new iPhone SE and we paid under $350 for it. She didn't want a big phone. We both find the 4" screen size of the iPhone SE much more manageable and at 1/3 the price it's a win-win. And the processor seems just fine to us.

I just got an iPhone X from work to check it out. I currently have a 7+. Can't go back to the small screen and didn't see any new features that appealed to me, so I will ask them for an 8+ instead.
If it were my money, a 7+ would be my choice.

Short answer: It depends!
Are you Android user and want to switch to iOS then definitely.
If you are using iPhone 6S and older version and trying to upgrade then - sure!
If you are using iPhone 7 and newer iPhones then you can wait.
iPhone X is not fullbaked product. This is more like stable prototype for customers (think iPhone 2G).
There will be lots of upgrades and improvements in future generations which might make your current iPhone X very amature.
If you are not early adoptor and happy with your current phone then I suggest you to wait for at least another generation of iPhone X.

I got the X when it came out and love it, the picture is absolutely amazing and I like having a smaller phone than the plus versions I was used to having.
Is it worth the extra money over the 8 or 8 plus? Depends on how much you value screen size vs total size of phone and how much more important the screen quality is. For me it was as I use my phone a lot to watch movies while on business trips and working out.
I never understood the fan-boy-ism and pissing matches between Android and IOS, I consider both to be good operating systems, I just prefer Apple's and all of the devices I personally own run on IOS, I have used Android in the past with work and got along with it just fine.

But... relevant to this thread, then you come home, put down your work phone, and now you have to decide if it is worthwhile to spend $1000 out of your own pocket for this new iPhone X for personal use? Is that price worth it just to share the same ecosystem as your work phone? Does it even have to be the X?

Here's Unbox Therapy's take on the iPhone X.
He's not frugal by nature, and in the interest of full disclosure, he is also traditionally an Android user. That said, I also think his take on the iPhone X really captures its value proposition.
By all means, feel free to buy what you want. There are better things to worry about in life than which phone other people spend their money on. So, I am not here to judge. It's just that there are simply some facts here that I think is hard to ignore, and it would seem I'm not the only one thinking it.
Finally, if you think he is somehow too biased against Apple, he also has a video that warns others NOT to buy the Galaxy Note 8.Last edited by Tabs; 12-02-2017, 04:38 AM.

The iPhone X is SO BUGGY.
I've had it 2 months and even with all the software updates it still locks and messes up. Also they change the screen capture button so whenever I pick it up, I accidentally take screen caps. My friends also confirm this problem.
The phone is kind of a nightmare. Not worth it.
