  • Anyone affected by the battle between Disney & Charter/Spectrum

For about a week now Spectrum no longer has ESPN and ABC, both owned by Disney. And should Spectrum be providing some sort of refund?

We dropped cable years ago so it doesn’t affect us. And we didn’t have Spectrum. We’re in Comcast country.

    * Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
    * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
    * There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.

I don’t think a refund is indicated. When you sign up there is no guarantee which channels you’ll get.

Not the answer that I was hoping for but I believe you. And just when Monday Night Football will be starting up, perfect timing by Disney.

I haven't had cable television since 2005. I do have cable internet though, all though Comcast. The price is steadily climbing. It is up to $82, from $42 in 2006.

I did see a StarLink dish in someones yard a couple miles from my house the other day. It is more expensive, but would be a possible alternative.

We have StarLink. It is expensive, but it is the only reliable internet service we can get.

$600 to get started, then $130 per month after that?

It was $300 to get started. We've had it a couple of years, so perhaps it has gone up? And yes, $130 per month.

We don't have Spectrum, but lost HBO on Dish when they started having their spat back in 2018. It's basically written into all those contracts, they don't owe you anything. Dish was the only TV service we could get where we lived.

Starlink has been a very good thing for us. We pay the price because it's that, or, up to 10Mbit DSL as the only other option, which doesn't support what we need for work. We did recently get TMobile home internet after 2 years of waiting, but it's not stable enough for work connections (yet).
                  History will judge the complicit.
