This already exist. The website for "This Person Doesn't Exist" can create faces of people, horses, cats, chemical compounds, and art. I'd link it but it appears they have changed their name. Google yielded several similar sites.

With the AI faces, it is usually easy to tell fakes. There are minor flaws around the ears, and hands are a dead giveaway. The horses and cats are interesting, some of them occassionally appear to have crawled out of a Lovecraft novel though.

The art option is just that art. I've downloaded some in the past that I really liked, and some that was just blah.

Yikes! Haha all those monotonous first-page scary articles on GAI are getting to my writing style I guess.

I'm at a medical conference this week. At one lecture today, the speaker was talking about some research stuff and he said that AI is a really powerful tool in that realm. Since most medical facilities have been on electronic record systems for years and years now, there is a wealth of patient data contained in there. It's a fairly simple matter to get AI to do the data harvesting and number crunching to analyze things from any angle you want to explore. Previously, a human would have to sit and do all of that.

The screenwriters went on strike this week in Hollywood. One of the reasons is that the studios are exploring the use of AI to generate content currently being created by human writers. The writers want guaranteed staffing levels. In other words, they want to be assured that their jobs won't ever be eliminated. I doubt any employer would sign on to a guarantee like that but we'll see what happens.

In medicine, a study came out comparing ChatGPT to human doctors and the AI greatly outscored the humans in patient satisfaction for delivering quality medical information and doing so with compassion and empathy.

FVRR took a hit the past couple of days. I found this article regarding FVRR and ChaptGPT: https://www.fool.com/investing/2023/...falling-today/

Honestly, for the most part I've just ignored AI, but letting my imagination run wild, it is both exciting and terrifying.

A true digital companion probably isn't far off. A cross between the TV Walls in Fahrenheit 451 and Joi from Bladerunner and that Microsoft Paper Clip.

There'd be people into "weird stuff" but outside of that, it could be an assistant, secretary, teacher, baby sitter, golf instructor, piano teacher, room mate, friend, bible study, therapist, grief counselor. An android like portrayed in M3GAN is still way out there, but the personality on a computer screen isn't far away.Someone on parole may have an AI probation officer. Restaurants will have it for sure.

You show up to a funeral and can have a chat with the deceased. It has the deceased facebook photos and through facial recognition realizes this one photo includes you at a bar that it identified as being in Hawaii from 20 years ago. It searched both your bank records and identified where you both paid for that deep sea fishing trip and it starts raving on about the great times y'all had on that trip. It then provides you with a QR code to buy a flower arrangement.

I know I've listed a bunch of sci-fi movies, but the future of what stands to be developed next in regards to AI is looking a lot less (or more) like an episode of The Black Mirror.

I wonder if AI could comb local real estate listings for me and notify me of properties that cash flow and meet my target cap rate
For event planning, I'm not really sure where I would see benefit for that unless it could cross check lists and find discrepancies (ie do the flight dates match the hotel check in date? Is there a registered attendee that isn't on the rooming list?). I should think/research more on this.

This is the response I got lol

We're sorry, because this is a demo, we cannot have our agents running for too long. Note, if you desire longer runs, please provide your own API key in Settings. Shutting down.

ETA: I had initially requested a complex task and I got that response before it produced anything other than a list of things it would need to gather and analyze to do the task. I tried a second one to summarize my company's Q1 earnings call and while it ended with the same message, it did put together a short list of financial results, accomplishments and challenges. Neat - just saved myself an hour!

Which AI do you use (ie, ChatGPT, Copilot, etc). And what have you used it for? I use Copilot which is Microsoft's AI which is conveniently located next to the X button where I often mistakenly click on it. I use it for menial things such as what the weather will be like this weekend, or if any swells are forecasted in the near future, etc. I tried asking about passive income which gave about the 10 same ways as a regular search engine (ie, real estate, peer to peer lending, creating an app, etc).

AI is basically a fancy search engine. It automatically searches everywhere and serves up the information to you all together. It doesn’t create information out of thin air so you will get the same answer as searching on your own but just in a more polished way.

May or may not be totally accurate, but it matches my cynical viewpoint. I almost never use it. But if/when I do, Google's Bard is the one that I have ready access to.

I wasn’t trying to be cynical. That’s what AI is. It gathers data from any available source and compiles it. It can’t create information. It can only work with what it is fed. What’s different with AI vs a standard Google search is that AI has the functionality to present the information in a readable format rather than just a list of results.

ebay offers an AI option for writing item descriptions. What is does is pull info from your title, chosen category, and item specifics that you have filled in and then puts that all into a couple of paragraphs summarizing everything in a readable way.

Maybe 'cynical' wasn't quite the right word. I just haven't really bought into generative AI yet. I acknowledge its value as an aid in various applications ... but I think the quality of their outputs are still relatively poor & not comparable to an actual human's creativity.

That said, this week DW's doctoral program used an AI system of some sort to put the students through a series of interviews (almost like job interviews). I haven't gotten to ask DW yet about what she thought of the AI itself, because she's neck deep preparing for an exam and doesn't need the distraction of my intellectual curiosity. But practicing interviews *are* one of the more unique applications of generative AI that I've heard of. Especially for someone with interview jitters, practicing a few rounds with an AI seems like a good idea.
