  • A Little Chilly This Morning

Kids got here yesterday afternoon about 2PM and it was 35 degrees and pretty decent out. This morning it's 9 below zero with a 20+ mph wind.
Got the woodstove going and we're staying inside to loaf, watch movies, play games and cook today.

Doesn't take the dog long to go outdoors and do her business.

Here in NJ, the high temperature today is (was) 60. The low is 11. Huge swing as the cold front moves in. With the wind chill, the real feel temp will be about -20. We don't often see temps like that in this area.

We were traveling back home (north) from the south and we're just going to sit and wait it out at a hotel until everything is settled. We're used to the cold but that wind is way too much for our little light car. I hope everyone keeps their power and stays warm.

Perfectly normal weather out here in the mountain west. We got slammed by this snowstorm last week as it moved on from the Pacific, got >4" of wet, heavy snow, with morning temps in single digits plus whatever the wind was. But all of that is fairly typical for our winters. Currently chillin' in the low 20s, and we're out on the hill sledding.

It's uh... 72 degrees.. here in Indio, CA today. Went for a long walk over lunch. It's Friday, so we'll BBQ and sit outside tonight. Will need to pull out the hooded sweatshirt for the evening...supposed to get down into the upper 40's tonight.

There's one heck of a weather event happening back home in the Seattle area. Major freeways shut down for freezing rain. Power outages -- because we rarely ever get freezing rain -- and other mayhem. Glad to have side-stepped that one.
            History will judge the complicit.
