Tattoos do you have it & how much do you spend?

Would you allow your 8 yr old to get a tattoo? On the news this morning an 8 yr old boy had one on his neck and not a small one but the size of credit card and colorful. I don't have kids but if I had one no way would I allow my 8 yr old to get one. I imagine at school other boys would want to challenge that 8 yr old to a fight maybe calling him out as tough, etc. On a side note what about piercings how young is too young. Real story once at work a femaile coworker brought her 1 or 2 yr old dtr to work who had pieced earrings. I asked if it were piercings. She said, "nice isn't it?" I said something to the effect that shouldn't that be the daughter's decision to get it rather than the mom's decision. Mom was pissed with me, lol.

No, I would not allow it. IMO, an 8 year old should not be allowed to make any decisions he will have to live with his entire life. I don't approve of piercing a baby's ears, either.

My mom pierced my ears at 6 months old. Kind of a tradition in our family I guess and a popular thing to do in the late 80s-early 90s. I did not continue the tradition for DD but also didn't have a set age when I thought it was appropriate for her to make that decision for herself... she chose to get them done around age 6 or 7.
