    • I got my latest payment for china from Replacements today. This is stuff I have shipped to them recently.

      Total sale: $863.75
      My cost: $337.09
      Postage: $68.26

      Net profit: $458.40

I've already shipped 2 other patterns and have 2 more waiting to be packed. I've backed off a lot on shopping to focus on some other priorities but I'll keep at it.

      * Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
      * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?

      • Disneysteve on eBay do you still get excited when ever you hear the strum of the guitar indicating that someone bought your item, and the cashier sound when the buyer pays? Whenever my item sold and I'd hear those sounds I would think to myself alright it sold.

        • Sold my truck on marketplace. Paid $11,000 7 years ago. Sold it for $7,500. So it cost me $3,500 plus all the other fees/insurance/upkeep over that 7 year span. I was happy with that number.

Yep, when I hear the ca-ching I still get that little dopamine hit and grab my phone to check what sold.

That's great. I always say one of the best things about buying secondhand items, whether it is clothing or toys or housewares or cars is that they don't depreciate the way that new items do. Heck, numerous times we've bought something used and sold it later for as much or even more than we paid for it. That doesn't happen much with cars unless you fixed it up somehow but as your example shows, it definitely reduces your cost of ownership.

Update on these books. I sold one book a few days ago for $85 and sold a set of 4 today for $175. I've got 4 books left to sell. I got them free so I'm certainly happy with whatever I get for them.

                • The strum of the guitar is when a bidder leap frogs another bidder.

I very rarely run auctions, only a couple a year, so I mainly hear the ca-ching every time an item sells.

                      • Disneysteve do you resize your images before listing an item? It takes me extra time to resize my images but I always do it so in order that interested buyers can zoom in on the pictures to get a better view of the item.

I crop every image to minimize background. That’s all that’s needed for buyers to zoom in and see detail. That only takes a couple of seconds.

                          • Listed the Magnetic Organizer today on Offer Up and sold it today for $10. About 10 people messaged me today asking if still available, etc. Jose was motivated and said he would be here today and he showed up today and bought it, sweet.

                            • And I had listed it on eBay today and just remembered to take it down before someone else buys it when it is already gone. Now I want to go get that George Foreman grill and see how much I can sell it for.
