I picked up a Marketplace purchase this morning. A woman was selling two pieces of Pfaltzgraff for $25. I knew that one piece was worth $80 to me. I didn't check the other piece because her photo wasn't great and I wasn't sure what it was but it didn't matter since I knew I'd make a $55 profit on the other piece. I just looked it up and that piece is worth $30 so my total profit is actually $85. Nice quick flip - $25 to $110. I'll take it.

Good job. On Offer Up, I listed this new baby stroller for $5 and a woman just bought it. I paid $18 for it on Ebay w/free shipping. Before selling it I was going to put it in the dumpster but figured to try selling it first, glad I did.

Before "Easy" says wow good deal I only lost $13 (lol), when I worked for the Dept of Children and Family services I bought the stroller just in case needing it but never needed to use it.

Doesn't matter what you paid for it. The point is you got $5 cash for something that was going to get trashed and now someone else will benefit from it. Keep it out of the landfill and help out another person.

That's a good way of looking at it with less trash in the landfills and helping out that woman. It took about 3 months of it sitting on Offer Up before she bought it today. The easy thing to have done would have been to trash it where it was taking up space in my small apartment and collecting dust and it was irking me every time I'd walk past it and it reminded me of DCFS a job that I hated with a passion so I was so tempted to dump it but it paid off not dumping it. What a relief to get rid ot it though.

Answered an ad on Marketplace yesterday for some dishes (4 plates, 4 bowls). Picked them up a little while ago. Paid $20. Came home and sold them to Replacements for $84. Add them to the pile I'm taking down next week.

I think I mentioned this before but what Replacements buys on any given day is all based on supply and demand. I've learned to periodically recheck what they're buying because something I have that they didn't want a couple of months ago might be on the list now. This morning, I rechecked the items that I have listed on ebay and found two that Replacements is now buying so I ended the ebay listings and submitted the purchase orders to Replacements for $25 and $40. In both cases, that's more than I would have gotten on ebay especially after fees. It frees up storage space in my ebay area and gives me more to take to Replacements next week without spending another penny for stock.

Their one and only location is outside of Greensboro, NC. It's about an 8-hour drive for me so I try to have the most I can for each trip. My goal is $5,000 though I'll probably be a little short of that this time unless I find some good stuff this week. Right now I'm at $3,727 but I've had days where I got $500 or more in a day so you never know what will turn up.

I leave on Wednesday so getting down to the wire. I'm up to $4,144 worth ready to go. I'm okay with that though it's not as high as I was hoping. I may hit some shops tomorrow. On Monday, we have an appointment to work on our kitchen cabinets. That's about 30 minutes north of here and there are a few thrift stores nearby so we'll probably hit some of those while we're up there.

Went to a few thrift stores today. Spent $35. Bought stuff that I came home and sold for $291 bringing my total to $4,435. And we'll probably shop tomorrow also.

Yep. It was a good thrifting day. At the first store, I bought 12 salad plates for $15.25. Replacements is buying them for $15 each. I found a chip on one when I got home so I'm selling them 11 for $165. At another shop, I paid $6 for a salt and pepper set selling for $56 and $5 for a serving platter selling for $40. And at a third shop, 6 bowls for $8.46 selling for $30.

There is absolutely time and effort involved, but what I do truly isn't difficult at all. I could teach anyone to do what I'm doing in 15 minutes. It's quite ridiculous how easy it is to make a great return on my purchases.
