Nah, you invested another $18,000 in your business. As long as you continue to get a good return on that investment it's not a loss.

For the past 17 years, I've been paid hourly, so I've always though in those terms. Now at my 2nd job, I'm also hourly so same thing.
Well I don't really even think about how much I make an hour since I'm salary, but I do remember when I made $56 a day. But I can't remember how long ago that was or what job, hehe just the $56 sticks out in my mind.

Makes sense, especially if your hours are somewhat variable.
I've never thought in terms of $/day because my hours aren't the same every day, especially since I started the urgent care job but even before that when I was full time family practice I didn't have the same office hours every day.

I would gladly trade positions with 97 guns. The 3 days I'm off work I am not earning anything a day so my weekly income would the same as 97 guns. So 7 days of passive income I would take anytime over four 10 hour days of having to keep a set schedule, dealing with responsibilities, dealing with personalities, etc.

I agree. That is equivalent to about $1.6M in the bank. If I had 97guns' passive income, I could retire tomorrow. I have $400k of penalty free investments available right now that if I had the guts, I could turn it into passive income and be FI.

Our household income average at about 1.1k/day, or about 1400/working day.

                Wow Tom, almost at 1mil/year?

I told my wife I'll be ecstatic if we hit 500k/year.
