  • What type of checks do you have?

The active thread about checkbooks made me think of this one. For those of you that have a checkbook, do you have no-frill checks or do you have something a little more eye catching? If more eye catching, what?

Our checkbook is Looney Toons theme

I used to have Disney themed checks. But, on the last reorder I just ordered the cheapest option because I use so few.

      No frills.
I'm old school, still pay many bills with a hand written check stuck in the mail.

For those that use very few checks most banks will print them for you, my mom gets 10-20 at a time from chase but her other bank, bank of the west tells her they can't at one branch and she got them at another

I refuse to buy checks for my checking account, so I haven't had any since I ran out around 8 years ago. The only time I ever seem to "need" a check is when I'm signing up for direct deposit at a new job, and I used to keep a voided check for that purpose. But, I found that employers are just as content with a routing/transit number pair. For everything else, I use my bank's online bill pay, which will basically print out a check and mail it to anyone I like.

All the same scene or multiple scenes?

I have 4 different scenes for my LT checks.

They are a plain bluish color. It's the standard ones from my bank. No frills.

Multiple. I think there are 4 or 6 different ones.

Funny story for you. One day, someone paid me for an ebay purchase with a Disney check. This was maybe 18 years ago before all of the fun checks were available. I showed it to my cousin who was a bank VP. He contacted the check company to find out if those checks were available for purchase. They told him that the checks were exclusively for the Disney credit union and not available to the public. He told her that I collected Disney memorabilia and would love to have them. She offered to send him a blank check as a souvenir. What she actually ended up sending was an uncut sheet of the checks. I have it framed and hanging in my family room.

Regular Safety Blue checks. Our bank provides them free. I've noticed they don't send as many at a time like they once did. This is fine, as I'm lucky to write even 10 checks a year!

Mine have a fleur de lis pattern, in rotating cool pastels (pale green, blue, lavender, rose). They're pretty. I get them free from Wells Fargo.

And, I even wrote one last month, to pay a library fine. That might be the only one I will use all year.

Mine are polka dots on different color pastels, pink, blue, green and yellow. I can't have anything too feminine or juvenile because my DH has to use them when he goes to his doctor. They only take cash or checks.

I do have a finding nemo disney visa that I always get lots of comments on

My checking account I do pay a little extra for the national park theme. I believe some part of the $15 fee is donated to a park fund, otherwise it would be a complete waste of money, past just me liking the way they look.

My savings (money market) account is the plain vanilla checks.

I've got the checks in the same plastic sleeve I have had for +10 years as they sit in a box until I need to pay bills.
