I had an ethical thing about not buying at Walmart. But then my prescriptions started getting ridiculously expensive and I started using Good Rx and walmart often has the lowest price. i try to go in and beeline for the pharmacy. I have Prime so I don't think I'll use walmart.com all that much unless they have a good selection of grocery items, which I don't think they intend to offer.

Amazon doesn't have the cheapest price for stuff online. I find I shop them less than before and I find that I am hitting other places with coupons more. I have prime but I'm not sure for how much longer. Before we could on the kid's kindles download videos for flights. But now it's limited to like 10 videos. Um terrible with two kids and 1 account.
So instead we've been doing netflix downloads so we may switch the kids to regular tablets and have more freedom on apps and stuff as well instead of kindles. Or just root their fires.
But amazon might be losing us soon as prime members. I find a lot of people just shop prime without price searching online. Seems ridiculous since you are shopping online anyway. Stuff has been cheaper on ebay, itsy, target, walmart, toysrus, bedbathbeyond. we'll see what happens.

I ordered a little bit from everywhere this past Christmas. The bulk did go to Amazon, but I did price comparisons and checked camelcamelcamel for the price history before buying anything. No matter where I bought it from, I got the best price this time. No more buying on Black Friday assuming it was a great sale price.
I think that Amazon itself is selling less and less items, and the sellers are jacking up the prices on a lot. Their Halloween items had insane markups, as did some of the Christmas decorations, especially those Gemmy lightshow lights. I recently bought 2 from Walmart for $9 each and they wanted over $30 a piece on Amazon.
Plus, you get a 30 day return policy with Amazon and 90 days for Walmart.
I'm not sure if this actually works or it happened to be coincidence, but I started putting things that I wanted on my wish list on Amazon, and it wasn't belong long that they started showing up as lightening deals when I had Prime. They were pretty good deals, too. You might want to try.

One thing to watch for with Amazon, particularly if you have Prime, is special offers on shipping options. Just recently, I placed an order and I could either take the free 2-day shipping that comes with Prime or I could take the free but slower shipping option (3-5 days) in return for a $5 Prime Pantry credit. Since it wasn't something I needed quickly, I opted for the slower shipping and the $5 credit.Steve

I have Prime so the $35 for free shipping won't entice me to shop at Walmart.com. I don't use prime to often but it comes in handy at times. I do order our fish food and aquarium filters from amazon.
We got prime when our daughter started college. She signed up for Amazon Prime Student and it's half the price of the regular prime. So for $50 it's good for us. When they all get out of school and I have to pay the regular price I probably won't do it. I used to always just do the free trial around Christmas, I can see me going back to that.

So far I have only made two Amazon purchases since I signed up for Prime. One item is being returned today. Nothing wrong with it but it really wasn't what I was looking for. An item I wanted for my running and could not find anywhere locally in store. So it was nice to be able to check it out and have an easy return process.
The other item arrives tomorrow.
I will still likely to price compare for expensive items and anything that looks out of whack, but I am enjoying this convenience. Plus I have an Amazon gift card balance from MyCokeRewards.

I neglected to read the specs for the product. A couple of days later, this huge box comes to the office. It turned out the sound bar was 31 inches long, which is about 4 inches longer than the width of the wall unit where the TV is, so it had to go back. I could have put it in an Amazon drop site for free, but the nearest one is in Philadelphia and it would cost me $5 in tolls plus time and gas to get there so I just took it to UPS instead which cost me $10. I won't make that mistake again.
My return today is free via USPS. The closest Amazon drop is almost an hour away.

For those who have returned to Amazon have you checked to be sure on the return receipt that it was free? I mean it says "return free" but when you look at the invoice, it's taken off your payment. So it is free because they let you print a sticker for free and take it back no questions ask but they charge you the shipping.
It's happened to me a couple of times so I haven't bothered to return items and instead it sent me to shop at stores with real places to return it. Just want to be sure that you've seen the receipt and the itemization after you return the item. It's really sneaky and i know people who've worked for amazon and say it happens. People think it's "Free" but they don't really check their return. Just return to sender, print label, and send it or drop it.
