You keep saying this but I still don't know what it means other than having to wear a mask in certain situations.

I am fully vaccinated. My wife is fully vaccinated. Before that was true, we did not enter my mother's apartment building. We did not fly. We did not see friends in person without masks and only outdoors. My wife didn't go inside any stores (I still went grocery shopping).

Now that we are fully vaccinated, we visit my mom in her apartment without masks. I have flown twice. My wife has flown once and will fly again tomorrow. For the past year she and her friends have been playing Mah Jong virtually but once they were all vaccinated they went back to playing in person, indoors, without masks. We went out to dinner with 2 other couples week before last. Our synagogue reopened for in person services a few weeks ago.

I could go on and on but the point is that we are certainly not acting like we were before we got vaccinated. We've largely resumed most activities. The only thing I can think of that we haven't done yet is eat indoors at a restaurant.

How is it "interesting"? I think it's incredibly sad. But, since all you do is bad-mouth the government, the CDC, and anyone trying to do anything to get us out of this pandemic, I'm not surprised. Maybe you should try waking up on the other side of the bed. What if the media is reporting a current event, and not an agenda? Seems more likely here.

Yes, correct. Vaccines are slowing down because of apathy because there is no incentive to get a vaccine, as people still have to act unvaccinated. I employ 47 people - I have a decent idea of the sentiment. State run media would never admit this for obvious reasons, so they are citing "fear." The message from state run media is that those who aren't getting vaccinated are a bunch of deplorable, backwoods Trumpers.

No one who works for me has expressed "fear", though admittedly maybe a few are.

When the rules change and people can act vaccinated, they'll get vaccinated. Save for that, I think we will stall out on vaccinations with maybe half or a little more completely vaccinated.

I'm not seeing this specific point because I don't think it exists. The CDC guidance is clear and no, I see no issue with the vaccinated Bidens and the vaccinated Carters in the Carter's personal living room. Biden's mandate for federal buildings doesn't seem to apply here. If it did, and he ignored it, of all the things a sitting President has claimed to be personal privilege over established law, this literally doesn't matter. But again, to the letter of existing guidance from the CDC, I don't see how he's wrong here.

I assume that Jimmy Carter's house is exempt, but his driveway isn't. You're being played.

No, really, the CDC published guidance on post-vaccinated masking behavior.

    If you’ve been fully vaccinated:
    • You can gather indoors with fully vaccinated people without wearing a mask or staying 6 feet apart.

The Carters are vaccinated and so is Biden. Personally, I am comfortable not wearing a mask around known-vaccinated others, like family and good friends.

The same thing can be said about pants.

Masks do work, and so does distancing - when people strictly observe those things. When people don't observe those things, they don't work. It's not rocket science. You can't get Coronavirus if you aren't near it. A recent study suggested the 6' rule may not be as effective as hoped, which gives credence to the idea that people should not gather indoors with the public if it can be avoided. Just like we've been told all along.

Number one, there is no evidence outside of CDC propaganda that human behavior worked. Look at actual cases, hospitalizations, and deaths, by state. It didn't work. I can produce chart after chart of real, unopinionated, hard data that will tie up all of the bandwidth for this message forum.

Same here. I have many friends and family members who are educators. They were 100% opposed to returning to in-person learning until they were able to be fully vaccinated. The fact that many districts forced them to return is criminal.

And it's working so well, of course. I saw a teacher patient 2 days ago. She said that more than 20 students in her school are currently out with COVID. She also said that they are no longer requiring exposed contacts to quarantine, so I'm sure the number of cases will just continue to increase.

    Good question.

Studies were produced which indicated *with proper ventilation, *with proper cleaning of air, *while everyone wears masks *with rooms only filled to a specific capacity, children can resume going to school, and they can do so fairly safely against their risk of infection. What the study described was unobtainable for the majority of schools, but mobs of angry parents demanded state-sponsored childcare for their children resumed, no matter what. And so students and teachers were sent back, many against their will, not yet vaccinated, into environments which increased their risk of infection.

With perfect protocol, and given the reduced risk of severe infection in children, the 3' rule was coined, but notice in the CDC guidance you posted, it often makes a case for being more cautions than just 3'. Does it really mean anything? Personally, I don't think so. Maybe better than nothing, but given the choice, I would follow the safer rule, do not gather in numbers in enclosed spaces or learn remotely when possible.

This one was really about the angry mobs of parents who couldn't deal with their kids at home. There are several educators in our family and every single one of them was opposed to resuming in-person learning too early and without the chance to first get vaccinated.
