Scientifically safe, but Astrazeneca skeptics remain (msn.com)
I think CA has already received some JnJ vaccine.

Nearly 4 million doses of Johnson & Johnson's single-dose COVID-19 vaccine are headed to states, including California, with injections expected to start as early as Tuesday.

All 3 vaccines are now in distribution. Please get whichever one you can get as soon as you can get it. Don't put off vaccination because you want a particular brand. It really doesn't matter in the big picture.

So from what I am hearing, all 3 vaccines are good but if you can choose, Pfizer/Moderna is more preferred than JNJ? I know both Pfizer and Moderna uses mRNA so if given an opportunity, which one do you prefer between Pfizer and Moderna and why?

          No preference between those two.

I was surprised at this being a carrot to entice people to get the vaccine - are we already at the point where a carrot is needed? I would happily get the vaccine today, any of them, if it were available. I don't even have the vaguest clue when that is likely to happen here in my part of CA, but I'm getting the sense it won't be very soon. I have friends and clients who are happily cutting the line and using anything they can to get it first, but I won't be one of those people.

Absolutely. So many people have said they don't want to get the vaccine or don't trust it largely because of all of the misinformation that was spread during its development and how poorly launched it was. Now that we're finally on track, we need to convince all of those people to get it. If 40% of the population refuses vaccination, we're still going to have a significant problem.

Vaccine availability is improving by the day, especially now that the J&J vaccine is out. One day last week 2.9 million vaccine doses were administered. If they can keep up that pace and more, the entire country will be vaccinated within 2-3 months.

I heard J&J is already having production issues and won't be shipping anymore until the end of March. I agree, everyone needs to get it, but from the perspective of someone who can't get it with no idea of when I can, it's like, maybe time your message better, obviously all of the available doses are currently being given with none being wasted. But maybe that's true only here in CA. Maybe other states do have a surplus (in which case they could send them to my neck of the woods!).

It's not that there is a surplus anywhere. There is simply a segment of the population that is currently eligible for the vaccine, are offered to get it administered, but elect not to accept it. Their dose goes to the next person in line. But the issue is that many people are currently rejecting vaccination when it's available/offered.

I got the Pfizer shot the first week it was approved. I would take Pfizer or Moderna.
