I'm not sure whether I've ever posted to this thread before, but today I did a decluttering that has been such a relief!
In early summer, a renter neighbor moved out and gave my husband a huge tub full of Christmas ornaments, lights, tree skirt, candles, jingle bells, etc. We didn't need these things and the tub has been sitting in the entry hall for months. Finally I was able to give it to someone who was looking for such on behalf of a charity. I only had to take it two blocks away. So good to have it gone!.... Let us never do that again.

I'm trying to do some "odds and ends" sort of decluttering today, mainly in our computer room on the 3 desks in there. Little things that have been sitting around too long. A light bulb. Loose batteries. Old keys. A tape measure. A roll of duct tape. Some things that we don't need at all. Some that we need but don't belong where they are. Somethings that I really need to find a place for so that they stop living on the desk.
Just started 2 ebay auctions. I generally hesitate to list things in December so that I don't have to deal with the post office but these are both small and can go in a regular envelope.Last edited by disneysteve; 11-30-2021, 11:37 AM.

Going to get rid of probably 100+ items tomorrow. Spent thanksgiving cleaning garage and toys. Selling a bunch and donating whatever can't be consigned. Love love love my garage right now.

Took down 8 ebay listings that haven't sold. They were for individual issues of a magazine. Relisted them as full years (4 issues each). Lower price, cheaper shipping. Hopefully that attracts a buyer or two.

I cleaned out a dresser and my closet today and ended up with two garbage bags stuffed full of clothes. It felt great to drop them off at the donation bin, feels so much lighter and nicer!

One more Buy Nothing item picked up today and someone is supposed to be coming for the last one.
Just listed something on Marketplace after a search revealed that it's not worth selling on ebay. It's only worth $15-20 but would cost about $15 to ship. Local pickup it is. I suppose I could also list on ebay with local pickup only, no shipping. I may do that too.
Not really decluttering but I did spend a brief time in the garage. Contractor is coming 12/13 to replace the side door and I needed to make sure the path was clear. I put a few things back that I had moved when the siding crew came last month and straightened out a few other things so I guess that does count even though I didn't get rid of anything.

There's a healthcare item that I occasionally receive a carton of samples of from the company. Since I no longer have an office, I have no use for them, so I list them on our Buy Nothing group. I got a box weeks ago that's been sitting on the floor ever since. I finally listed them today. Half have already been picked up and the rest will hopefully be gone by tomorrow.
I just started an ebay auction for a lot of 40 related items. It's really a great assortment for a collector so I'm hoping someone jumps on it. I've sold a bunch of these things and this is the last batch I have. I could probably have made it 2 lots but I just want to move the stuff out.

Cleared off a bunch of papers accumulated on my desk.
Cleaned up my computer desktop. Deleted some files I no longer need and got many others into the folders where they belong.
Searched through the ebay account settings and found how to change when they send me payments from daily to weekly. It was really annoying having them pay me every time something sold. I'd rather get fewer larger payments. I really don't care if they hold the funds for a few days.

bought two new wire stands for garage and got rid of one old one. And now our garage looks tidier. Returned a borrowed air conditioner

Sold another lot of 12 magazines. Just waiting for payment. Also sold a small lot of old Masonic items.
I usually wait until year-end for this but my one file drawer was getting kind of stuffed so last night I cleaned out a few of the folders and recycled a bunch of bills and statements.

Finally called & went through the process of closing all of the accounts at a credit union that we don't really use anymore, and haven't used for at least 8 months. That eliminates a total of 4 checking/savings accounts plus a credit card, and frees up about $400 of cash that was hanging around in those accounts.
Pretty simple, but it does declutter our financial lives just a bit. The credit card recently had fraud on it as well, so one less threat to worry about in that respect.

Threw out an old pair of dress shoes that, with holes in them. The shoes had been in my closet for a couple of years.
