We are expecting a baby girl in May- she alone is a win but there’s a financial win as well! With babies come completion registry discounts. This was automatically applied in my online cart to eligible items. I figured this would apply to baby related items but imagine my surprise when I got an extra 15% an already on sale Samsung Frame TV. Was an extra $200 in savings we weren’t expecting!
We’re flying my dad out for a visit in a couple weeks - redeemed $500 worth of flight credits through Chase Travel that completely paid for his flight!
What wonderful news! (And, congrats on the surprise savings, too!)

I just got a notification from one of the 2x RELPs I recently bought into, with my quarterly distributions report. From a $250k investment, I'll get a deposit of ~$4500 next week -- roughly 7.2% annualized cash return. Hooray!!

Pony up $50k-$1M+ upfront into a moderately high-risk LLC real estate development partnership (as a silent/non-voting partner) for a minimum of 3yrs, desirably closer to 5-10 yrs.
Saying it like that really makes it sound undesirable ... Lol ... But it's also the honest reality about what it takes, besides working with the investor relations folk on all of the legal paperwork.
Oh, and you also must be able to get qualified as an accredited investor ... Proving $1M+ of investable assets, or an income above something like $400k/yr.

How long was your $250k in the company before you received a payout?
We have a savings account that has $250k in it and it's been paying out around $800/month in interest for a while. Granted, if interest rates go down so will the amount. But it's about as safe as you can get.

Since Dec 2024. But this is definitely nothing even remotely comparable to a savings account .... It's an apples & orangutans level of different, and this investment was not intended to be "safe" in the slightest -- quite the opposite, in fact. When deciding to invest with the RELPs, we very carefully considered how we would handle it if we were to lose every penny of $500k .... Because that possibility exists as a very real risk factor.
I shouldn't actually be surprised or thrilled about these distributions, because this is roughly in line with what I was promised when I joined the RELP ... 7% returns as a quarterly partnership distribution + capital appreciation upon sale. This style of investment is just new to me & a bit exciting to see it already working out positively.
Took a little hike in the woods yesterday afternoon and found 2-1/2 LBS of fresh morel mushrooms.
FYI - Local market has them for sale at $80 per pound.

Nice. What do you use them for? Or do you sell them locally?

You eat them. They're kind of a midwestern delicacy mostly because they are such a challenge to find.
Traditional way to prepare is simple rolled in a little flour salt & pepper, then fry in butter and oil.
We had friends over last night and stuffed and baked a bunch of them w/ cream cheese, diced onion, parsley and diced shrimp.
They're also great on pizza or any dish you would use other mushrooms.
Most of them got eaten last evening by guests. What's left we will eat next day or two.
