I came back and resurrected my old thread just because it was around the turning point in our saving journey but other than that I am entirely using early retirement.org and Mr. Money Mustache forums. Catch you guys over there maybe!

Seeing that you are now actively participating in the spam, I see where this is going. Today alone, you've dredged up several very old and worthless threads by one-time posters. I don't know where that's leading but it can't be anywhere good.

I've been here for 10 years, which I guess is a pretty good run in internet time. I'll certainly miss this site.

That was my take too! If the site owner is bringing up old and really irrelevant posts what the heck is the plan for this site! Ugh. I think I'm going to start backing up my blog somewhere else.

Hi Guys,

Its important that folks get a chance to weigh in on what can be done to make these forums more awesome.

It would also be great if we could think about focusing on talking about money and not about how James is a quirky guy, so lets maybe think about about putting in some final thoughts here.

Otherwise I am going to go ahead and lock this thread in 24 hours or so. This will give everyone a chance for final comments and ensure that the forums isn't about a single individual.

Threads from one-time posters

That would be a huge undertaking, done manually anyway.

We do need an automated system to have older threads lock themselves automatically.

There also needs to be some measures in place to stop the spammers. Approval for new members to post, a limit on the number of posts that a new member can make, etc.

I agree. His blog seemed very informative. He and his wife seem to have a lot to offer. Yet on this site, his posts give me the impression he is a schil, which after reviewing his blog, is most certainly not the case. Very strange.

James, you could turn this site back into the one that saved me from financial ruin simply by implementing what has already been suggested: PREVENT THE SPAM! Then we can all get back to the serious business of helping people, which from what I can gather, you are also very interested in.
