In a time of peace, no one really needs the U.S to survive. We are not the biggest energy producer in the world and not the biggest food producer in the world. We are good at producing high tech products and weapons...this is why we have a trade deficit because we got nothing else other people want.

And lets just say we have something other countries just can't live without..what are we going to do? Put up embargos, threating companies that if they sell these goods to these countries, they must hire within? How is any of this small government? Are we going to pay workers here 15 dollars/hour with benefits to make Iphones, use our resources, and then sell these Iphones for 1299?
What exactly is his plan? We are going to "win with china" is NOT a plan!
If a single person could answer a single one of these questions I'd listen to what Mr. Trump has to say. I'm not holding my breath.

On a related note ... I've been on Facebook for eight years. I have deeply held political positions, but I don't usually share them on FB because half of my friends would disagree with most of my positions.

But I'm scared spitless this go around, and I'm not holding back in FB land. The problem is, there's no good alternative.

I'm staying off FB because I cannot bear to watch one more friend display another positive Trump meme. This race has changed the way I think about several people who are distant friends whom I will not miss and some close ones, who I would so I'm staying off. God forbid, I respond with an actual sourced fact, they get rabid in his defense. I'm staying away because my heart can't take anymore. What he said yesterday about abortion in regards to women and then took it back and made it about doctors is scary stuff. He's no longer a laughing matter.

That's exactly what happened. Throughout the summer and fall, 70% of the Republican electorate were shaking their heads and chuckling. Then, about two weeks before Iowa, they stopped laughing, and realized he was a force to be reckoned with. By then it was too late.

As much as I don't like the guy, I do think he was baited a little bit on his abortion answer. I get that the prez should be able to handle all types of situations but that seemed like he put his foot in his mouth instead of truly believing what he said.

Maybe so, but there is so much more he DOES believe that he has his foot stuck in his mouth about, that he gets no sympathy here.

Heres a 10 minute video of someone breaking down mental tricks that trump uses. Kind of interesting.
That is very revealing isn't it?

I think Trump like Bernie has tapped the anger it appears many people have towards the government, towards "establishment". People feel betrayed and angry. People feel upset about how they are being governed by "few" instead of the majority. Elite versus middle class.
