I am going to use them as I am falling asleep so no intense political or really dry finance ones please. Looking for humor, talk about pop culture, interesting stories or people on any topic.

so far I have Alec Baldwin, Serial and I confess, one about the Housewives, lol

The only ones I listen to are Disney-related. The DIS Unplugged family of shows. I used to listen to the Suze Orman show until that ended. I go through phases where I'll listen to the Dave Ramsey show for a while but it gets very repetitive, as do most financial shows.

    * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?

"NPR Fresh Air" is really good.
"How did this get made" can be pretty funny. Comedians talking about crappy movies
"Invisibilia" This is also NPR. Some amazing stories here
"Dan Carlin's Hardcore History". These are long (3 hours plus) and involved but they are amazing. Dan Carlin has a real gift for bringing history to life and making it easily digestible. His series on the Mongols is some of best media (of any kind) I've ever heard.
"The Nerdist" is mostly interviews with famous people. Pretty entertaining.

This American Life is great! I listen to mostly fitness podcasts to catch little tips here and there that help in everyday life. The two fitness podcasts I love the most are The model Health show with Shawn Stevenson and On Air with Ella. Physical health is just as important as financial health in my opinion

                Shudder.

How can any financial show except one on current events *not* turn nauseatingly repetitious?

ISTM that all of Orman's CNBC TV show questions were really occult (fancy word for "hidden") requests to justify what they already planned on doing.

My favorite podcast is Freakonomics, which is definitely a good one for interesting content and some good story telling.

My favorite personal finance podcast is Stacking Benjamins, which tends to be on the lighter, more humorous side.

Just to suggest something different, I'll recommend The Message. It's short and finite, and if you like science fiction, it's worth listening too.

One that I recently started listening to is Radical Personal Finance, he's got about 300 shows. It comes out nearly daily, so I can't stay on top of every episode, but he covers a wide variety of financial topics.

My absolute favorite is "radio lab " wync

                            Comedy/interview ones that I like:
                            Joe Rogan experience
                            Star talk radio <----science related
Infinite monkey cage. <------ science related
                            Adam carols show

Dan carlins hard core history<------ absolutely amazing history podcast

The disciplined investor <------- great investing show

Stuff you should know <-------- great random knowledge/science show

                            Serial <------ investigative journalism
This American life <-------- same as above

I also have some programming / tech podcasts. I have became quite the podcast junkie in the past few years. I recommend listening to them at accelerated speeds, 1.3-1.5x speed allows me to digest the longer ones with no apparent loss of content.

I am loving all the suggestions, thanks! They totally help sleep and it's working pretty well as long as I remember to set the timer to stop them. Otherwise Serial plays all night and I have no clue where I left off, lol.

Does anyone like Season 2 of Serial? It seems to be getting panned and military stuff is not my thing, although this is interesting as it is happening still in real time.
