we initially had a cruise out of japan booked in June I cancelled that early March. We still have tickets but free cancellation. I see cheap tickets and me and DH and kids are fine. But the thought of going to hawaii and bringing covid with us to elderly family is terrifying so we aren't going.

Yep, this is one of those things I dont think a lot of people know about. You can get a full refund if your flight is changed. Depends on how many hours...each airline is different I believe.

We cancelled all the hotels/tours for Italy. We still kept the hotel in switzerland, and the flights are still on (will cancel those if we have to.)
I was glad that we are getting all our money back from the tours...around $300 total. We'll give it another month and see how switzerland is doing...if we have to cancel, we'll cancel.

You guys should be requesting to cancel now... and if they refuse, then file chargeback with your credit card company. Don't leave the decision totally in the hands of the other company.

I'm 99.9% sure my trip is done. I still have 7 more weeks, so I'll probably just wait another 2 more weeks before canceling. Not in any hurry to be on the phone all day, as I'm sure there are others ahead of me with more tighter deadline to cancel their flights."I'd buy that for a dollar!"

Today was the date I supposed to fly to Paris. I have a niece who had been attending grad school over in the UK--our original plan was my sister (and another niece) were going to meet up with her in Paris. My sister and I knew that we would have to cancel a few weeks ago, but even a week ago my niece had no idea that she would have to go home from the UK. Last week, the state department issued a level 4 travel advisory urging Americans not to travel overseasand to return to the United States if they could (She came home this past Sunday--thankfully, it was relatively easy for her to get a seat).
So far I have only seen the upgrade fee refunded from United (cancelled on 14 Mar) and part of the Disneyland Paris hotel (cancelled on 13 Mar) posted to my account.

We cancelled our hotel stay in switzerland...everything is now cancelled, except the flights. Will have to reach out to american in another month and rebook something else. Hopefully, they just refund our points...will make it easier to rebook on our own time.
