Been seeing the latest news that Iran has fired missiles at US bases in Iraq. If things do get out of control and a war starts, what are your thoughts on how profit from it? Go long on defense stocks?

War With Iran, how to invest?

As a military guy myself, and personally involved in our operations out in the sandbox... I'm going to say that from a moral (and hopeful) standpoint, I won't bet on war... Seems like bad juju or something. Besides, wouldn't that be considered "insider trading"? Lol
Bottom line: Stay the course, and this too shall pass... Hopefully with minimal/no bloodshed.

Who knows if what we here on the radio and in the news is true or not, but I did here a couple of statements worth considering. First Iran has claimed they killed between 20 and 80 Americans. It seems the actual death toll is 0. Second there was a report Iran told us of the launches and targets 2 hours in advance.
Why is this important? We took out their #2 guy in the command structure. Their government had to do something to save face.
It is my understanding that the people of Iran, as a whole, are really good people. They just have a corrupt oppressive government. Ahmadinejad is the perfect example. He denied the holocaust occurred and stated there were no homosexuals in Iran (they kill them).
My personal opinion is the strike killing the general sent a very loud and clear message, "If you endanger American lives, you forfeit the right to exist on this planet". Regardless of your politics, there is no bowing or handing over millions of dollars from this president. I suspect Trump has just earned more respect from Iran then the last 5 presidents combined.
I don't foresee war, not from this. In fact I am betting on peace.
I doubt we will ever see wars like WWI or WWII ever again. Between satellites, drones, and precision missiles we can hit what we want, when we want. There will still be a need for feet on the ground, but I doubt would be more than Desert Storm or Iraqi Freedom.
Sure these wars may cost upwards of a trillion dollars. But I'd love to know how much of that is the fixed cost of maintaining people and equipment and bases.

Back to the initial question, this act doesn't change my investment strategy.
"I'd buy that for a dollar!"
