  • Amazon, Costco, Netflix spending

I was thinking about memberships and I realized we only pay for our executive membership at costco. We're canceling amazon prime in January when we are up for renewal. And we have netflix as a gift every year. So now with free downloads we have the $13.99/month netflix for 4 devices. We don't need the amazon prime tv downloads. $120/year seems excessive for us since we aren't big online shoppers and amazon is by far no the cheapest in town.

As for Costco the $120 we make back in spades. We live 1.2 miles from a costco with a gas station. We will spend around $3000 in gas this year mostly at costco and with the 4% cc and 2% back membership that's 6% = $180 in gas savings. Not to mention gas at costco is about 30 cents cheaper per gallon to begin with. Then milk at costco for us saves us $2/week so $104/year on milk.

That and we're not alexa people we've ended up with nest and google minis and chromecast. So amazon prime is getting jettisoned. We'll still order if they are the cheapest but instead do slow shipping.

I will admit I'm addicted to kindle unlimited but I'm debating just buying a year membership.

I'm kind of in the same boat, but don't have Netflix. I'm planning to cancel Amazon Prime after the holidays as well. I've never used their Prime media in all the years I've had it. Costco executive basically pays for itself for gas usage and certain bulk items.
"I'd buy that for a dollar!"

my area is pretty high cost of living on all staples, gas, etc. so the costco membership generally pays for itself. Its one reason why we have the highest grossing costco in the world. amazon prime has no real use for me since they have the free snail shipping. Yeah they do have special sales and stuff for members, but generally not really worth dropping the money for membership for me. i spend the $10/month or whatever for streaming netflix cause I dont watch tv.

Amazon ughh.. They said they delivered a package and didn't today. I also don't have it on camera being stolen it just wasn't delivered or maybe to another house. They have to now go look at the tracking. The photo online of delivery also doesn't look like my house. I hate amazon. Two day shipping is a load of crock. I never get anything in 2 days. More like 2 days after shipping.
