  • Honda Accord vs. Honda Civic

I am thinking about buying a used Honda Accord or Civic with a budget of $8k to $10k.

I want to find one in very good condition, 2008 model or newer, with reasonable miles.

I'm not certain which one I should buy. I understand the Civic is a compact size. However, I am single. It's just me. However again, I am big/tall so that is also a concern.

Another variable is I own a 2002 Silverado 4x4 pick-up truck that I plan to keep. Runs fine.

I would be using the car for daily commute to and from work and any road trips.

Which car would you elect to get and why? I would especially like to hear feedback from anyone who owns or has owned and Accord of Civic.

    Thanks,
    ES

Go with the accord. EX-L or SE if available.

You'll have a more comfortable ride both mechanically and physically.

    I have a 2011 Accord SE.

I'd probably take the Accord if it has a V6 and a timing chain as opposed to a belt.

You're big/tall, so I'd think the Accord would be a better fit.

Roomier, more power, still good gas mileage.

Go for the larger car if you can afford it, especially if you're a big/tall guy like me. In general, bigger cars are just more comfortable. Bigger seats, more head room, more elbow room, more room for your knees, less road noise/vibration, and they're generally safer.
        History will judge the complicit.

I knew a 6' 4" teacher who drove a Honda CRX for over a decade. Honda's may look small but they've got it where it counts. I would learn more towards a civic. Orrr, get an Accord but get rid of the truck (unless you actually use it for truck things). There's a guy at work who drives a Ford Raptor every day. I can't help but LOL each time I walk past it.

Yeah I would get rid of the truck and given the option between the Accord and Civic for a guy like you the Accord might be the better option.
