  • What are your three hobbies?

I recently heard that everyone should have three hobbies:

    1. One to make you money
    2. One to keep you in shape
    3. One which allows creativity

What are the three hobbies you do which fit these three areas?

    1. I guess my 2nd job is kind of a hobby. It was my career for a long time, being a hospital microbiologist, but now that I have a desk job, working in the lab is a lot of fun for me. Other than that, I've been making jewelry as gifts for people. I haven't sold any to make money, so it's certainly saved me money that I would have spent on gifts.

    2. I love to workout. I just don't feel like myself if I miss a workout.

    3. I've begun to love cooking and baking from scratch. I'm experimenting with new recipes, which saves me money and is healthier for my family. I guess that's my creativity!

          Interesting.

          1. Accounting and personal finance (This is my #1 passion and lends well to making money)
          2. Working out I try to keep varied. No one thing really comes to mind. Hiking, biking, tennis.
          3. Music. I play several instruments and enjoy live music performances.

Are you ever going to participate in any of the discussion that you start? Or are you just going to keep posting questions?

              Let's hear your answer.

              * Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
              * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
              * There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.

Sorry about that. This is a bad habit of mine. I think of something interesting in my mind or have a discussion about it and want to hear what others have to say about it, but forget to put in my own opinion on it as well. I'll try to be better at that in the future.

                      1. Money: I don't have one right now. Something I need to try to develop.
                      2. Shape: I do pilates.
                      3. Creativity: I enjoy painting, but I should probably spend more time doing it.

                        1. Haven't done much with it lately but I collect and sell Disney memorabilia. It used to be a pretty active business but that was years ago. Now I just put stuff on ebay now and then.
                        2. I'm a runner. Did 250 miles in 2014. Haven't done much so far this year due to a foot injury.
                        3. A little hard to explain but I do something where I transfer an image (think coloring book type image) to an artist canvas and then hand color it with permanent markers. Over the past few months, I've made 6 of them, all Disney themed, that I'll be donating to a charity auction being held next month. It's a Disney group running the auction hence the theme of the items. I'm also currently making a Peter Pan one that my daughter wanted. I'll have to post a pic so you can see what I'm babbling about.

I am an avid cyclist (2-6 times per week).
I lift weights as well as use a treadmill when I cannot cycle.
I collect antique furniture, coins and collectibles.

I have 3 hobbies, but they kind of cross categories.

Knitting is creative and I've sold it, so it's made money.

Writing is also creative and I've sold short stories, so it's made money.

I have a hobby farm. I raise 4 types of animals, have a breeding program to try to get certain things in my lines (again creative), sell them, and sell eggs, so again I make some money (but it goes to pay for feed and upkeep).

I really don't have one for keeping in shape. Does chasing after loose chickens and ducks count? Maybe gardening and cooking. I do exercise, I just don't consider it to be a hobby or fun. Just put my time in.
