How often do you go to the bank?

I used to go quite often (a few times a week) to deposit cash in the ATM. Now that I no longer have the cash component of my income, I find I go much less often - maybe stop at an ATM on payday, and once more during the cycle if needed?

I don't use a whole lot of cash, unless I'm going out with a group, and even then, everywhere we go in NYC is used to splitting amongst many cards.

My paycheck is direct deposit, and I don't really get checks other than that. My bank has a p2p payment service which is great for if I owe someone money or vice versa, it takes seconds to send - I actually use it to pay my rent every month.

I often wonder why the banks are always so busy. Between ATMs, online banking, mobile banking, direct deposit, etc., why are the physical branches mobbed more than ever? Some banks are now open 7 days/week to accommodate the business. What are people going there for?

About three times a week, my boss will have me take our store's deposit to the bank, and pick up change for the register. I visit a bank for personal banking about twice a month.

I hardly go to the bank physically, since most of my bank work thesedays are done with my laptop or phone.

Almost never, these days. The last time I was there it was to get a cashier's check. Everything else I do online and via mobile device.
            History will judge the complicit.

once or twice a month. I go after pay day to take out money for groceries, gas, fun spending and personal care spending for the month.

I may go another time to make a deposit from a house sitting client. My main bank doesn't have a mobile app and I need to be able to transfer to my business account with ING.

I go two or three times a month. That's only so I can get enough cash out to buy groceries (I go to Aldi's and you need cash), yard sale spending cash, and the occasional other cash expense. Normally I wouldn't go so often, but we have a C.U. branch office in the building I work in, so its a two minute walk to the branch . I normally get $50 at most out at a time.

I go all the time, for work. So, I started doing my own banking with one of the banks I visit regularly. It's quite convenient.

I will need to go to the bank soon as I just got a settlement check for $0.71 from some ebook class action lawsuit I didn't even know I had taken part.

I like those type of deposits and the conversation though.

"Will this deposit be immediately available?"

Are they actually sending checks for that or just crediting your account? I thought they were going to put the credits into your Amazon account.

No, I got a physical check (the only ebooks I bought were from B&N though, not amazon).

It isn't a normal size check, it is actually a teeny check printed on the envelope from E-books AG Settlements Administrator

I just transferred $40,000 more into checking from the broker to make a last lump sum payment on our house so I am going to ask for a balance when I deposit the $0.71

I expect them to say "Would you like to open a saving account?" when they see the checking balance is $72,000.71

This is why I still like going to the bank...so childish.

I never go to branches anymore. Literally never. I go to ATMs once a month for my grocery money (I find I spend less if I have a hard cash limit) and that's it.

I use ING, which only has maybe 5 physical branches in Quebec, everything is done online to cutback on costs. There are virtually no fees with ING because of this. I love it.

KTP, I too love seeing the Teller's face when they see my account balance. It's the only situation where you can silently feel proud of your treasure trove without it being socially taboo.

I always found it odd that if you're a millionaire, bragging about that fact is less taboo than if you have a few ten or hundred thousand dollars. Very odd.

I'm sporadic. I get business checks at anytime and usually go 1 to 3 times a week to deposit them. Sometimes I go based on where I am going on business at anytime.

If I were an employee who received direct deposit, I would likely never go to the bank.

Once a year. We bank online, I can do everything online. I seem to visit once a year to get change for our garage sale. I just take cash in and ask for change. Easy!
