Yep, I've been doing it somewhat regularly for the past 13 years. I'm a bit of a car nut.

I did a few ride alongs last year thinking I would AutoX my Z4M. Holy crap, that type of racing moves fast. I'm a fighter pilot and it would take me some time to get up to the skill level these guys were driving at. Loved the classification system that allowed everyone to compete. I ended up selling the Z before I got brave enough to enter it. I did learn that HP is not the key attribute that makes a good AutoX car.

Given your financial situation, if you really want it, and willing to allocate 60K from spending it on something else, you could pull it off.

Just curious, do you have a place to drive it "really fast", or do you plan on getting some speeding tickets?

Yes what's the point of saving and earning otherwise? It'll teach us miserly savers on this site to potentially live a bit more.

PS...I don't know if I'll ever get there but I'd like to get there one day!

A good rule of thumb is to never finance toys. If you can comfortably pay cash for a sports car without it impacting your other savings goals, retirement, or lifestyle, then go for it.
