Me Burger King. Now for onion rings Jack in the Box. Once a month I will reward myself & when I do these are my staples.

Onion rings are not big in my country (most people might not even know how they're made), but we make our fries at home. Not that hard and surely cheaper/healthier. We're so displeased with the bad food quality in most such restaurants, that we choose to cook at home. And the meals are better.

I consider getting stuck eating at these places to be punishment most of the time, not reward.

That said, once or twice a year I will get myself a chocolate shake from McDonald's.

I prefer Wendy's, simply for the fact that they ALSO have the Frosty's, which I dip the fries in (think french fries as a spoon). Sweet, salty, chocolately deliciousness. Otherwise, Chik-Fil-A's waffle fries are the best of the bunch.

In reality though, like DS, I'm really not much of one for fast food, and rarely get it (perhaps once every few months). But every so often, sure... I'll go for it.

Subway or Chick fil a are my family's first choice. Wendys in a pinch.

I dont care for McDonalds,BK,Sonic etc....even if they are cheaper.

I look at fries only in terms of being "calorie worth".
There is only one for me -- trainwreck fries in Virgil's BBQ (NYC Time Square).
While you are there, best wings too, and ribs not bad.

Considering what I'm paying for a personal trainer, fries are more expensive than you would imagine.

I vote none, and do oven roasted potatoes at home. Nothing like really good quality potatoes (or other root vegetables) a little olive oil, and some herbs on top. Yum. Will have to have some for dinner tonight!

Best thing is that they are not too bad for you. And no, this is not old fogey me talking, I gave up fast food when I was 15 and have not missed it.

They may be cheap, but for what they do to your body? Not worth the price in my book.

Wendy's now has real potatoes. Chick Fil A as well. I like theirs.

Burger King, I have NO Idea what oil they use, but it coats my mouth for hours and is just gross.

McDonald's can't even tell you if they have gluten in their fries, which makes me wonder what the heck is in those things.

I recall a number of years ago McDonald's got in trouble because they were advertising the fries as being fried in 100% vegetable oil and implying that they were vegetarian. As it turned out, they were coating them in beef tallow (or something like that) so they weren't vegetarian at all.

I am not craving french fries now AT ALL.

This thread kinda makes me want to vomit. fries coated in beef fat are NOT appetizing.

I have't eaten potatoes in at least 3 years.

I really like the BK sweet potato fries on occasion.

But even way before this happened, McDonalds fried all their fries with 100% beef fat-and they were the most delicious fries I've ever tasted. Then the do-gooders got involved, convinced McDonalds to use vegetable oil instead, and the taste of the fries was never, ever as good.

Sometimes if I find an old fashioned, non-franchise burger joint that uses their beef fat for the fries, I can enjoy great fries like I used to, but there aren't many of them around.

I have read they are also full of sugar.

My understanding is that it is dried potato flakes, reconstituted with a few other ingredients, like sugar, and shaped so that they all match in size, and then fried, used to be in lard, but now I guess beef fat......

Lovely. Beef, sugar, and reconstituted potato flakes. YUM!
