I'm in the shop about 41(7-4 mon-thur and 7-12 fri) hours per week, but my work load does not have me hoppin the whole time. I add hours when necessary. I do my books at home which technically adds a few more hours per month.

I run my own graphic design business and work from home.

I aim to bill 20 hours a week, and then work another 10 or so on non-billable work such as bookkeeping, marketing, learning, networking: so total about 30 hours a week. Some weeks it is much more (working nights and weekends to get projects done); some weeks it is many fewer hours. I earn enough to be the primary breadwinner for my family, but still have time to go to my kid's football and hockey games and school activities.

Paid hours? Zero. Stay at home dad, so I definitely work quite a few hours, but I don't get a paycheck. It's not all bad...I'm taxed at a very low rate

Wife is currently working 24 hours a week. Well, that's what she's paid for, there's an extra 8 hour shift every other week that's unpaid. Last year it was 36-40 hours a week, but for only six months.

          My situation is...

I work 40 hours a week at my day job and somewhere between 30-35 hours a week nights and weekends at a second job. 75 hours a week does drain you but it's well worth it since it doubles my income.

I really have no idea. It varies a lot.

I'm self employed and I pretty much work 7 days a week, but I work anywhere from 1 hour to 6 or 7 hours in a day. On rare occasions when I have a big project it's 70+ hours a week, but it's usually more like 30 hours or so.

40 hours a week for me doing my normal pay job. another 20+ hours or so for doing my online business. Hopefully one day I can earn enough online more than my regular job.

When I work for others, anywhere from 20-38 hours a week. But when I am doing my own creative work, I can work all day every day, and it doesn't seem like work. When I can totally survive on my own work, I will work all the time and be in bliss.

6 days a week and doubles on Friday. I really only get part of Sunday off. In this economy though, I will take the feast over the famine any day!

I usually work maximum 4 hours per day. My weekend is in Friday and on that day, I do not touch any work at all. I am always a lazy kind of person who does not want to work too hard but love to think a lot about unique things. Most of those thinking are business related.

                        Hours of Work

I am currently working between 50-60 hours per week. I feel this is too much, but I am trying to get ahead at work. I feel you get out what you put in. I think I could work 50 hours before I lose that work life balance. How about you?

Too much! I average about 45 hours per work. Really, I should be working more in order to pay off debt and replenish our savings more, but it is so hard when you have so little downtime. One whole day off is dedicated to grocery shopping and putting in an hour or two at work to check up on things. The next day is half dedicated to getting the rest of our groceries. >.< We never get enough sleep and rarely feel like we fully get to relax and just enjoy each others' company.

ha...I do that daily at work and I get paid pretty well plus all my medical is covered! Just watched seeking a friend for the end of the world...movie sucked!!

I'm only 29, maxing out roth and 401 each year, no debt, have a hair less in the bank than you did when you retired...Id think about retiring in a couple years if work wasnt so damn easy!

Matter of fact I spent a good portion of the day booking a trip to Alaska.

Gotta run, I need to catch up on the 2nd episode of dexter and I only have 1 hour left at work!
