  • If you were rich, what toy?

If you were rich, filthy rich, what would your toy be? A yacht? A plane? A second home? I think I would want a super RV with all the fixins.

What's the point of saving if you can't dream of riches?

If money were no object at all I would like to have a beach house in some exotic tropical paradise. Maybe have my own island to put it on. And of course a private jet to fly to it.

I would buy one of these: Golden Oak at Walt Disney World Resort

I'd also second the RV purchase. I've told my wife many times that when I retire, I'd like to get one and travel around the country. But a multimillion dollar home on Bay Lake at Disney World would be a nice place to come back to.

I'd buy a large amount of property(s), teeming with wildlife and having a large lake in the middle.

Oh, the list is too long... But we'll start with my own private island in the Pacific, with all the toys to play in the water that I could hope for.

More simply, I'd settle for an M3 and a long, curving road to play with it sans PoPo

              Servants, baby, servants!

I'd never wipe my own butt again.

I don't know. There's some stuff I hope I can always do for myself...no matter how rich, or old.

If I didn't have to worry about money, I would become a "professional" student. There is something about college that makes you stay young. Oh, and of course a vacation home somewhere tropical.

Mine is a nice cabin on a lake, secluded with its own dock. An small lake plane would be icing.

Well, I'd get back into my old days of self-defense again. It's still a hobby that I have interest in, and in fact, I recently picked up this. Ordinarily, it's just too expensive of a hobby to get into, but if I become filthy rich, then I can also be a high value target. In which case, why not get back into self-defense?

Beyond that, I'm not sure. There are a few fine dining establishments I wouldn't mind trying out, and if I ever meet someone, I wouldn't mind sharing a cruise or two. By the way Steve, that Oak Parks is gorgeous. I never knew there was such a place. Yeah, so I guess I'd also buy a decent house somewhere. After that, I don't know....

If I was truly wealthy, I'd buy a professional soccer team or start one up. In Europe you can move from the lower divisions up to the top divisions. I'd like to start at the bottom.

I'd also like to start a high-end soccer academy here in the US to mimic those that they have in Europe. That's really where my passion lays: teaching my favorite sport to a younger generaation (in the hopes that the US will win a World Cup in my lifetime

It's kinda funny but I don't like the "toys" that others would want or at least lower on my list. Cars don't really do it for me. Leather/heated seats are probably all the luxury I aspire too in cars and I already have that. A nice lake house, beach house is tough to beat.

Plane? I hate flying. Boat? I get sea sick. Fast car? I hate paying for tickets and insurance.

Oh I'd prob get a weekly massage, but that's more of a "perk" than a toy.

I'm not really into weapons (although I'm really tempted to pick up a Glock19 for hobby), I can see where you're coming from for self-defense. I started Muay Thai a couple of months ago, and love it for workout and learning offensive/defensive actions.
Going back to the original question of being filthy rich, after taking care of my immediate family/friends, I like the idea of further education, continue martial arts and/or travel. Local toys would an Audi S8, R8, and 5 other different cars of my choice for each day of the week.
"I'd buy that for a dollar!"

Just make sure you stick with undergrad. Most of my fellow grad students are stressed out, overworked, borderline alcoholics. I guess it might be better if your cash flow was better and your job didn't depend on it.

I would purchase an apartment in Old San Juan (Puerto Rico) and or a Beachfront house in the Caribbean.
