Holiday's mostly. I don't seem to spend a lot (apart from the obvious: food, rent etc) which means I can save and go on more holidays. I often get people asking how I can afford to go on two or three holidays a year when I earn the same as them. It's simple - savings instead of wasting.

In order of biggest $ amounts to lowest:
1. Retirement savings (about 70% of my after tax income).
2. Little travel trips on nearly every weekend, and long distance 2+ week trips at least once a year.
3. Rent for a room in the city I presently consult (IT work) (my home is rented out to a nice family)
4. Food, utilities...
5. Movies, books, music
6. Film, development costs, printing. I love photography.
I save most of my $$ because I am VERY pessimistic about the country, the economy, and the future of this country. This, even as I make well into the six figures, and am at the top of my career industry.
I HATE buying things I cannot justify, or that don't bring me a hell of a lot of value, or that decrease in value. I dislike people that are middle class but have high class spending habits; they do it for how they're perceived by others...this type are the most shallow of them all.

I am addicted to electronics. TVs, cameras, computers, and pretty much anything else that is new and cool in the gadget world. Problem is now I have a little one on the way and I'm sure I will not be buying that 1080p projector I wanted. Oh well, could be a good excuse to get a new camera

I'm doing my best to save to buy a hobby farm. I grew up on a hundred acres with a couple of cows, some pigs, etc. I would love to have something like that just to play around with, hunt on, and to build a stocked pond to fish out of. Land is $3K an acre around here, so I will most likely relocate.
I also love playing poker and hunting. I limit myself to $100 a month between the two.
