I've sold a lot of other gift cards on ebay and done very well, nearly face value. I never thought to sell these. since they aren't physical cards but just codes. As long as people are willing to just get a code, I'm fine with that. Great idea.

ETA: I just checked ebay. One seller sold a $30 Amazon code yesterday for $50! Why anyone would do that I have no idea. Looks like this is the way I'll be going from now on.

People are seriously stupid. They get caught up in the buying hype. And you notice everyone who shpos at amazon is also avoiding sales tax and possibly shipping.

From going through the ads, though, you should print out the codes and mail it in case of buyer fraud so you can get paypal protection.

We buy probiotics on a regular basis from Amazon. I have a particular brand I like and the price ends up being very good...especially when I have a gift card or two to offset the price.

I bought Wii games and accessories for Christmas just yesterday. I also had a $5 Amazon gift card. I have also bought a digital camera from them. The lower prices, without sales tax and no shipping often make the items a better deal.

Good luck selling them on ebay!

Good tip. I'll keep that in mind. I can just print it and pop it in the mail for $.44.

Guess I am too cheap. All I have ever gotten from them was used books that I could not find elsewhere.
dd#1 got a text book from them, then really got upset when it was $12 cheaper at the student union bookstore.
I find it odd that some people even buy their shampoo from them. I'd rather get mine free with coupons and CVS bucks....
But, if I had free $$ to spend there, I would be able to do that rather easily!!
What about ordering something to be sent to your childs school or a charitable organization?? We have one here locally "Show Me Christian Youth Home" in Missouri, that publishes their need/want list. You could find something similar and send it directly to them, but be able to claim it as a charitable gift on your taxes.

I think that's my problem, too.

We have done that for our daughter because for a while, we couldn't find the one product she was using in local stores regularly so I ordered a bunch from Amazon.

I will buy probably 90% of my Christmas presents from them this year. I've already bought the higher dollar things my kids want from them (Cyber Monday). They wanted electronics (ipod touch, psp 3000) and Lego sets mostly, and they were all as cheap or cheaper than what I found at Wal Mart, Best Buy and Target online.

Other than that, I buy books from Amazon (mostly used copies from merchants selling through them), and will price most purchases there before buying. Just bought a nice, professional set of cookware on Amazon a couple of weeks ago at a very nice price.

I buy Bob Mill's Quinoa from Amazon. I have a "subscription" to it which makes shipping free + a 15% discount. I can postpone my next shipment whenever I like, or move the next shipment up if needed. It probably isn't cheaper than buying from the bulk bin at Whole Foods, but is much more convenient (in that it is pre-washed unlike the bulk bin Quinoa.)

I did 98% of my xmas shopping from Amazon. Didn't you recently get a Wii? If so, check out Wii Fit Plus as a way to spend some of that money. The Fit Plus game is great! Another thing to keep in mind is that they don't charge sales tax compared to buying things locally.

I would faint dead away if I had $800 for amazon!!! I usually buy just books (used, mostly) from there. I have found that, for the most part, they have the best book prices of anywhere. I also use amazon for reviews and other gift ideas but generally buy non-book items elsewhere.

I did buy my sony SR-11 there last january when I could find no better priced HD camcorder locally. I plan on purchasing a still camera from there within the next few months as well.

I'm also doing christmas shopping for my nephews & niece on there (they live 800 miles away). The free shipping is great and the huge selection is what I love the most.

If you know of any younger person who has an ipod or mp3, amazon offers a wide selection of mp3 downloads. You could offer to purchase some songs for them as a gift.

I buy books from them usually. But I've bought headphones, used DVDs, xmas ornaments, toys for gifts, used computer games, etc. Now living in an area that doesn't have all the usual store within a convenient drive, I buy online to save myself time driving around.

But the interesting thing is that I just looked back through my purchases (all the way from 2003) and it's interesting how it jogs your memory about what was going on in my life in that year. Like in 2004, I bought a couple of personal finance books!

I buy EVERYTHING from Amazon. I find the prices very competitive, if not better, than my stores locally and most of the time, better than online prices. What makes them great is the free shipping/no tax. Sometimes it's cheaper for me to order from Amazon than to shop my local Walmart. I also love the fact that I can see the reviews of people who have purchased the item i'm considering. That always helps me make my decision. I've bought electronics, toys, scooters, books, vitamins, etc., you name it, i've bought it. Love, Love, Love Amazon!!

I used a chunk of my credit the other day to buy my wife's birthday present - a Garmin Nuvi GPS. In fact, I sprung for next-day shipping because she had a funeral to go to in an area she is totally unfamiliar with and she wanted to have it in time for that. Worked great. A couple of minor glitches but it got her there and back with confidence.

I buy DVDs for gifts during their Black Friday sales. I've contemplated buying food, but haven't yet. I have bought textbooks from them. I always include Amazon in the top of my list when price comparing. Usually I end up buying from Walmart. I'm a big fan, but I think in reality I don't buy from Amazon much during the rest of the year.
