    $2.69/gallon!

I passed a station this morning that was down to $2.69/gallon for regular. Nice to see it dropping so far and so fast. Of course, I'd rather pay a little more for gas and not have my portfolio going down the toilet but I'll be happy for the little savings at the pump.

Good for consumers, bad for Scanner.

Wow! I commented to DH that the station I pass was down to $2.89. I paid $2.89 south of town a few days ago when this station was $3.09. Leads me to believe south of town is probably down to $2.69. No reason to drive down there for a few days though - but I'll probably gas up there when I do!

Regular is about $2.85 here right now. I agree, DS, it's very nice to be paying $30 to fill up rather than nearly $40. It's a significant difference when you're filling up just about once a week. Unfortunately, my car requires premium, so I'm still buying at about $3.09, but still... very nice.

Makes me want to move to Mizzou.

I've been holding out on buying heating oil. I know prices for oil generally go down til Thanksgiving and hopefully this trend holds. I'm so tempted to fill my tank up.

We should have never paid the ridiculous price we did when it was high. The gas stations just took advantage of us.

Exactly what other choice did you have?

It had/has nothing at all to do with the gas stations. They don't set the price of oil and gasoline.

                            Please explain!

Are you draining it off your silo????

I paid $2.69 at a little county highway junction in northeast Missouri over the weekend, but today in St Louis it is $2.88.

I read somewhere that the average errand is within 2 miles of most people's home. Instead of driving to the grocery store, you could walk, ride a bike.

For a lot of people it may not be the easiest way to go, but a lot of people can cut down their dependence on oil.
