I would never have bought a boat! They are to expensive to maintain, and I did not like boating that much.

Boat = a hole in the water into which you throw money.

Mary Kay -- it may be a good business opp for some, but I should NEVER have gotten involved. I was a 22 yo waitress and student who had no freinds with any money of any kind to spend on "product." Especially if you "follow the rules" and sell the whole shebang instead of JUST the moisturizer or JUSt the cleanser.

I ended up donating my $3000 worth of product to the Girl Scouts to use for clinics on beauty/hygiene with inner city kids. I should have sent it back, but then I could never be a MK rep again. Boo Hoo. LOL

You had to buy $3000 worth of products from Mary Kay? I had to buy the starter kit from tupperware, but it was less than $50 and I sold tupperware for several years.

Had to buy $3000, no. I'm sure there was a starter kit for that, too, but my "director," (read: pushy conwoman) convinced me that to be successful, I needed to have stock on hand. You know, the whole kit for every skin type and every makeup color. "People don't like to wait, you know," she said. So I had product on hand (and on foot, and on shelves, and in my car, but not often sold).

My bad -- I was impressionable and naive. And I had a credit card.

Again, for some people it is probably a great career. The products are quality products. It was just not the right thing for me at the time, and I am just not the right kind of person to be able to be successful at it (could if I wanted to, probably, but wouldn't be because I don't want to be).

She took advantage of me, but then again, I guess I let her.

I got sucked into this too. I agree the products are great and there are real advancement opportunities for women. I just hate selling things. I am too introverted. I wish I had known that about myself before investing 2200 bucks in products!

I wouldn't have let my husband move me so far away from my family. We are so close and they could have helped my kids when I got so sick. But he needed to be away from his.
I wouldn't have bought all the stuff I really don't need and saved the money.

It is so hard for me to say what I regret because I've learned from all my mistakes. Here is a few things that I know I did wrong though:

-Wish I wouldn't have said ugly things to my parents, especially my mom, when I was a teenager.

-Wish I had only dated good guys like DH. The worst were military pilots. Glad they defend our country, but some of the biggest jerks you would ever want to meet.

-It is easy for me to say that I wish I didn't "throw my money away" by renting an apartment on the beach and buy before property values tripled, but I'm afraid I'd do that the same all over again. I realize the smart thing to do was to buy property, but living on the beach was the most amazing thing and there is no way that I could have bought property on the beach. Honestly, i just wish housing prices would not have tripled in 2 years.

-Wish I would've obtained my masters sooner. I probably could be looking at a promotion within the next year had I obtained my masters sooner.
