So, a lot of my friends are talking about the Epstein scandal - its like the general public is starting to catch on that the story is true and that a big portion of the elite of country were engaged in illegal acts.

I know its not about money, but I'd like to know what the community here thinks.

I'm frustrated by the lack of transparency and the lack of accountability and also the lack of justice. We were lied to time and time again by the trump administration, and the DOJ appears to be involved in a massive coverup on its behalf. Every single person in connection with every single potential illegal act in those files should be investigated and punished by the justice system equally and accordingly. The victims deserve nothing less, and I don't think we will heal as a country until that is done. The current administration and president are too close to this, too involved in Epstein's circle, and IMO should be removed from office.

I honestly care very little about this entire ruckus, and have generally ignored this particular political & criminal drama. The guy had a wide circle of acquaintances & connections, which is not uncommon in the circles of the wealthy & powerful. He y employed his circle to do & support heinous things. But what is unclear (to my VERY limited understanding) is how extensive across his network were his criminal actions, vs. all of the many, many people who simply knew & worked with him for completely innocuous reasons?

The truly unfortunate part is that the FBI (who should be investigating all of this properly) has lost so much credibility by being politicized against Trump's detractors/political opponents that nobody is going to trust the result of whatever they (or the DoJ, or just about anybody else) discover & report out of any investigation. That's exactly why law enforcement, military, and similar need to stay politically independent, and pulling them into politics is destructive & counterproductive.

This is way bigger than that
He just took the fall and was either deleted or he self deleted

Trust me that there is still some group or entity out there that is still engaged in this activity
It didn't all just go away when Epstein went away
The people involved will most likely never all come to light
It reaches too far and too wide for everything to be exposed.
The right wing and the left wing are both connected to the same bird

I don't care about it and wish the media would quit talking about it and our government would quit spending money investigating, or whatever they are doing.
Feels more like a distraction to keep the public's eye off the real thievery going on by the rich and powerful.

I don't think "this" is way bigger than can be served justice. Whether shamed out of power or incarcerated, the truth should come out and people should be held accountable. I don't think it's a distraction when our sitting president is mentioned more than 40k times in just the files that have been released. Forget the money, what about the children? And what role did those who currently hold office play in that? And, why is the administration working so hard to cover this up? I don't care who is involved from the left or right, I want to see punishment for any crimes committed.

All of these claims go back to a drug addict who claimed when she was 18 years old, she participated in, we'll say a "group event" which included other girls, who to her "appeared to be under the age of 18".

Even Melania referenced the victims yesterday, which was totally bizarre for her to just have an unannounced press conference to try to convince people she wasn't introduced by Epstein and wasn't one of his victims. But she also tried to distance herself from the Epsteins which definitely contradicts all the emails and photos dating back more than 20 years that are actually in the case files showing what appear to be extremely friendly ties to both of them.

The Trump admin still has not fully complied with the Epstein Files Transparency Act and has missed several key deadlines. Only about half the case information that can be released has been released. I wonder why? The American people deserve to know, and more importantly, for the victims.

Yeah, I heard that on the radio coming back from lunch today. I didn't realize what a smear campaign the media had been running against the First Lady. The claims they made were absolutely disgusting against this innocent lady, don't you think? But yeah when I heard she basically was saying the victims need to put up or shut up I thought about my post above and had a good laugh that she agrees with me.

The more it drags out, the more I question if anything happened at all. He was probably a bad guy, and the world is probably better off without him in it. It's just a shame that he was murdered before the true came out. I guess that's what happens when you're that close to the Clinton's.

There has to be an active investigation for the victims to testify. The totally corrupt justice department shut those down to protect trump. Why hasn't trump testified? Why did he do everything in his power to delay, lie about, and block the release of the files if he's innocent? Seems totally fishy / dishonest / corrupt to me... Even the redacted stuff proves they were best buds for years even when Epstein was doing terrible things to children.

Melania lies as much as trump. If we're going to deport unsavory immigrants, might as well start with her.
