Keep a pen and paper handy so you can tape a list to the fridge or have one on the kitchen counter so when you need stuff, you can write it down.

If this is your first place on your own, move in like you're camping, and go from there.

The shower curtain is a big one if you need it for your place, as you'll probably want to take a shower after working all day to get moved in.
