What's your favorite rewards credit card?

Cash back can be redeemed as a statement credit, student loan payments, or deposited into a U-Promise account. No option to transfer the money to a bank account, but a statement credit is effectively just as good.Originally posted by Petunia 100 View PostWow, that is a great rewards card all right. Are the rewards received as a credit towards your student loans, or as cash? (Just wondering why more people aren't raving about this card.)
The biggest downside is the monthly limits, as I explained above. But as I said, we got around that by each of us having a separate account, with both of us as 'authorized users' with each other's card. We will occasionally/accidentally bump above the rewards limit on one of the cards (typically for groceries), but you still get 1% back for spending above the $250/$750 spending caps, so not really a deal-breaker. I honestly don't know why this card isn't more popular... I love it, and tell anyone who is interested that they need to get this card.

wow, I missed this, I'm getting one. ThanksOriginally posted by kork13 View PostMy favorite credit card right now is the Sallie Mae card from Barclaycard. 5% cash back on the first $250/mo on groceries, 5% on the first $250 on gas, and 5% on the first $750 at bookstores (which includes any purchase from Amazon!!!). These three categories are easily the most frequently used in our household. My wife & I both have one of these cards, effectively doubling the monthly cash back limits. I also convinced my brother & father to both get this card as well.
For everything that doesn't fall inside those categories, I do have the Citi Double Cash card, which definitely is a great card as well.

I'm about to apply, is it the one connected with UPromise? that one looks like the one you are talking aboutOriginally posted by kork13 View PostMy favorite credit card right now is the Sallie Mae card from Barclaycard. 5% cash back on the first $250/mo on groceries, 5% on the first $250 on gas, and 5% on the first $750 at bookstores (which includes any purchase from Amazon!!!). Hmm..... I tried googling around for it, and it's looking like they may not be accepting new applications for the Sallie Mae card... It's not the U-Promise card. I may need to stop talking up this card...Originally posted by FLA View PostI'm about to apply, is it the one connected with UPromise? that one looks like the one you are talking about

For cash back cards Discover and Chase freedom, 5% categories are very good.
But rewards I really, really want are first and business class flights to Asia (to Europe I can suffer though, but to Asia, I just don't want to). I've had somewhere around 10 flights like these between Cathay Pacific and Delta. Sweet. I should post trip report some day.
Right now I have enough aa points saved up for 1 way Cathay flight for all 3 of us to Asia. The card I'm currently on is Amex Platinum, for airline transfer points. I had to pay $450 annual fee, but I will get a Singapore Airlines suite out of this, which will be a tremendous value for the money.

it looked so great and then I realized all the rewards go to U-Promise. You should keep that card forever. I could not find it either.Originally posted by kork13 View PostHmm.....
